hi guys, i just need your opinion kung kayo ako i know mahirap i compare to because different category anyway here's the situation. right now we are 3 in the family, my wife and 1year old son. we're planning to buy sana bigger car, yung kasya sana mga 7 persons plus gamit. my parents, and sister ko na nasa US. once a year lang naman sila umuwi, gusto ko sana yung magkasama lang kami sa isang sasakyan para bonding na din. so ok na sana ko sa starex, pero naisip ko pag alis nila kami na lang ulet, hindi ba ang laki naman ng starex pag ako lang mag isa?! yung Monty parang ok lang kahit solo lang. let's stick with the 2 choices sana.

we have 2 cars, i will sell one car pag bibili ng new car.

    thanks.

since once a year lang naman umuwi parents mo i'd go for the montero, mas ok siya kung mag-isa ka lang kaysa sa van ang dala mo.

pero kung weekend car lang naman(kasi may iba kayong kotse) ok din ang gs.

    my 2 cents!

Whats the other car? do you use both? kasi kung pareho nyo ginagamit for work I'd go for the Monty...

GS is way too big for every day traffic...

if once a year lang uuwi family mo, you can rent a GS and a Driver, thats bonding and relaxing...

In your shoes Monty pa rin, I have a Paj (same size as monty) & my brother has a GS. I wouldn't use his GS here in Manila. its a chore to drive a big van weaving in and out of traffic, Suv is already Big enough. Besides from my count there 3+3 capacity lang ang kelangan mong car. You can install a roof rack or a Roof Box (thule) if kulang pa. I think a couple of bags would fit behind the 3rd row (or fold one of them)well enough + roof box....

Montero Sport because it's only a once a year necessity.

Kami nga we use 2 CUVs in our out of town trips kahit 6 lang kami in the family.

Kasi the logic is that why would we bother to buy a van if minsan lang naman mag-outing. It's okay to spend twice the gas rather than buying an all new vehicle altogether.

    Yaman, 2 CUVs

    BTT: Montero Sport nalang.

Kasi masyado kang mag-mumukhang tatay kung Grand Starex ang dadalahin mo sa office araw-araw. Kung ako naman, at my young age, I wouldn't mind, mabilis naman ang van ko

OT : Ilan ba seating capacity nung Carnival SWB ?

BTT : Montero. Ayoko nung GS pag magisa, pwede ako magbasketbol sa loob sa sobrang laki.

The Carnival SWB can seat 8.

The Montero Sport is much appropriate here since your relatives go home once a year. If you get the Grand Starex, total waste since you're just three in your family. Unless you're a social junkie and you go out with 10 other people, get the GS. But from a usage and priority prospective, go with the Montero Sport

    2nd row naging higaan
3rd row para sa yaya at mga gamit
yung pinaka likod sakto lang sa stroller

    yan ay para sakin lang

Kung yung Gen 3 na Starex vs. Montero Sport, I'd have gone for the the Gen 3. But since we're talking about brand new, I'd take the Montero Sport over the Grand Starex.

We just upgraded from a Gen 3 to a GS, and yes, it does take some getting used to. Whereas the Gen 3 was around as big and as easy (if not easier) to drive as an MS, the GS is bigger and bulkier. Ok naman to drive alone, because it's wide and stable, so handling is not an issue even if unladen, but then lonely ka sa loob. Hehe! Sabagay, even if you, your wife and kid ride it, maluwag pa din!

I'd seriously consider a Carnival LWB though. It's a bit longer than the GS, but then since it's not as tall, it doesn't feel as bulky, and it rides better. You don't feel as much a full time driver on the Carnival as with the GS. Hehehe! Plus for me is the fold into the floor 3rd row, which will be useful for your out of the country relatives and their cargo. Think of the interior room like a Montero's but more spacious. Unlike the GS which is definitely more van-like.

Though the SWB Carnival is easier to move around due to shorter overall length, I find the LWB's last row more flexible and more useful. If I were you, I'd try considering the Carnival together with the GS and MS.
