February 8th, 2007 03:56 PM #1Ask ko lang po what's the difference of all these... vti, lxi, vtec, esi, and sr.
I'm planning on buying a second hand car... and medyo i got lost dito. I've seen yung mga forums, though i'm confused kasi may mga lxi pala na 1600cc. both vti and lxi po ba ay VTEC technology? ano pong year lumabas ang mga models na ganito? features? fuel consumption? tnx a lot for the help mga repapips!

AFAIK, VTEC is the engine for civics from 96 onwards. VTI and LXI are the civic classification from 96 up to 2003 ata? VTI has 1.6 engine while LXI has 1.5. ESI and LX naman are the VTI and LXI counterparts for civics from 92-95.

The threadstarter mentioned an SR. He's maybe talking about the RS.
just to add:
EK Body ('96-'98 Vi-Rs, '99-00 RS, i think )
Vi-RS or RS - 1.6 liter SOHC vtec injected - basically a limited version VTi with exclusive colors and trims. AFAIK everything else is the same. It's definitely rare. The '99-00 one had one color shared with the SiR, sunburst yellow, with black side mouldings. I've only ever seen three of these around. And yes, it's locally released, as i've learned from some friends at HCP.
