Would you go for an S200 with 2.2L w 237hp
or RX8 1.3L rotary engine w 232hp
Both are nice cars But someone has to be better than the other.
S2000

i voted for RX8,
ADVANTAGES
>Aesthetics(subjective)
>Weight distribution
>2+2 seating
>high revving(RPM's like sportsbike)
>its engine won some awards
>audio system
DISADVANTAGES
>high maintenace(eats oil)
>fuel consumption(gulp gas as V6 does)
>servicing(who would service rotary engine in the philippines?)
my IF's on RX8
if only RX8's engine is that of Mazdaspeed6. yahoo
if only RX8 is AWD like that of WRX STI. hmmm
if only RX8 is locally distributed. wow

S2000 for me. The RX8 is nice but has had too many problems since it was introduced in the market. As a previous poster said it eats oil among others and some of the other problems has required the owners to get the engine replaced by Mazda under warranty. That's not something I want if I buy a car much more if I buy a sports car.
the S2000 gets my vote.
they are both have high revving engine but overall im leaning over the S2000 since ive heard tons of engine problems on the RX-8, and i heard it drinks oil like a V8 engine.
The only real issue with the RX8 is the oil eating. So far, it's not as problematic as the older RX7 twin turbo engines.
That said... it's a tough choice... both cars are high-revving screamers... both great handlers (although the RX8 is quite soft compared to the S2000), and both add a certain drama to the driving experience.
The RX8 would allow me to share that with my friends (seats four)... but heck... I'm selfish... give me the privacy of the S2000 any day.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
ohoy flagg nagbalik ka na! saan ka nagtago bro?
this is a very tough choice. ultimately i will cross my fingers (and hope for no reliability gremlins) and pick the RX8 because of the 2+2 configuration. i have had a 2-seat car before and for someone who has to drive friends and family around so much, the S2K will be left in the garage 80% of the time.
Papi M54, bumilis na rin loading ng tsikot... praise the Lord...![]()
+1 me kay gerald... love ko talaga mga top-down...
Also, dun sa euroclub, one of the members has an S2000... one of the fastest sya pag trackdays... (yung euro nya parang baby e... di pang-track)![]()
My friend has an RX8, pinaka maling desisyon daw na ginawa nya nun binili nya yun sasakyan. Hindi talaga maganda mga naririnig ko tunkol sa sasakyan na ito. Bottom line poor fuel efficiency pati yun problema sa langis.
Aside from eating oil, mahina din daw ang A/C ng RX8. Not exactly what you'd want in a tropical country.

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
Since neither are available here through local dealers... I'd go for the RX-8 if I were living in the USA.
The 2+2 seating configuration is hard to pass up if you are a family man (how cool would it be able to fit in child seats at the back?). C&D had a long-term RX-8 in its fleet AFAIK and they were pretty pleased with it (I can live with its constant oil thirst and not so good gas consumption).
S2000 for me... especially when it hits vtaaakk daamnnn
Seriously though i like the stance of the S2000 and still wanting to have one.. maybe when i get tired of my dyke mobile i'd get one in a heartbeat
Oh yeah! i never heard it eats ike V6 engine.
We recently got a Murano and im lovin it!!! was xpecting oil bill will be high but tipid cya!
