Lugi ka magfinancing with 2nd hand cars. Besides, I don't think cars as old as the 1st gen CRV are eligible for financing anymore. Kelangan ata five years or less if I'm not mistaken? How much is your budget anyway? Is it only between these two?

I'd go with the FD simply because it is newer. Age difference is too much. FD would also be more fuel efficient than the CRV.

    Pag cash how much budget?

Edit: sa crv 1st gen, ok pyesa. Mura and easy to maintain. Gas lang talaga negative side. Old, yes, but reliable if you take care of it.

Fd: masaya kasi mas modelo. Ang masakit lang, madami na electronics na pwede masira.

If I were a student, ill take the crv kasi kung may masira, barya lang pyesa. Less things to go wrong kasi almost mechanical pa lahat. Pero kung kaya na maintain, fd na.

Etong dalawa lang ba ang pagpilian? For 450k pasok na ang Ford Escape or Mazda Tribute 2.3L. Newer model than the 1st gen CRV.

Or... What about an Accent CRDi? Pasok na yan sa 450k. Napakatipid sa krudo, ang lakas pa humatak...

Define first what your priorities are in a car. Then decide on your choices.

    Go for the FD.

Seems like he can stretch the budget, since he will be ready for upgrades in the future.

Para sakin kasi kung project car, mas ok yung mechanical rather than more electrical. It's still your choice, kung porma trip, kahit alin pwede. Euro, jdm, etc. Marami upgrade na pwede. Mas budget friendly lang crv gen 1.

Oh, I see... Don't like an Accord? 6th gen 2.3L M/T should be very nice, very fast too. Heck even the 2.0M/T is nice. It'll be more stable than any Civic or CRV and the handling is about as good as it gets for a front drive car of this class.

The 1st gen CRV has no VTEC, so part of the Honda experience is absent, unless you are planning an engine transplant. And then it still uses rear drums, and has no ABS if I'm not mistaken. If floods are not a problem to you, I suppose you'd find more joy with the FD. 2.0M/T if possible. Just try not to overdo it, lest it becomes ricey instead of sporty.

400k will go a long way when you opt for a 6th gen Accord (98-02). Most of them are priced around 200k-250k nowadays. You will have enough left for mods. It is very responsive and handles very well. 400k will even get you a 7th gen Accord (03-07) though there are no MT versions of the 7th gen. 450k will get you a 2.0L Civic FD MT but you will have to spend more to mod it.

If you can extend your budget a bit (450k-500k) and do not limit yourself to Hondas, you are now looking at a 2006-2008 Mazda6 2.3L or a 2007-2008 Ford Focus 2.0L TDCi MT.

For 400k, you can do a heck of a lot better than a first generation CR-V.

I'd go for the FD Civic. More practical. More economical in terms of fuel. Parts are more expensive, but you will go a few years more before needing major repairs, whereas with a CR-V of this age, the need for repairs is virtually guaranteed.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Best? Better in many ways yung fd. Lamang lang crv sa space and cargo loading. Personal preference ko lang mechanical than almost lahat electrical.
