Sa HP lamang nga gas pero Torque which is more important especially in acceleration lamang ang CRDi. Maganda pa is ang lakas na ng torque even at 2000RPM and yung gas walang accelration at 2000RPM kailangan lagpas 3000RPM pa bago lumabas yung power. Revving higher means burning more fuel...
Well as for comparison, I will give it to you na mas maingay pa rin ng konti ang CRDi kaysa gas pero di na rin malaki ang difference ingay-wise. Sa usok naman wala na din, parang gas na din.Last edited by tidus1203; April 6th, 2009 at 09:45 PM.

For me, I'd pick the tucson.
1st reason: It's diesel, what could you ask for. A CRDI engine is not like the old engines that blows black smoke and slow.
Common Rail Direct Injection -- makes the diesel engine run like a gasoline-powered one.
3rd reason: Like what the TS mentioned, the interior of the Hyundai Tucson is spacious. And it has a better clearance than the CRV.
4th reason: There are plenty of CRV's in the road ( well not as plenty as fortuners ). Well, let's say the Tucson is just......rare.
Since the TS mentioned prices, I can't compare the 900k+ Tucson to the lowest crv in their line-up.
Well, for me Tucson wins my hand

About the ingay thing. Very minimal na lang yan, di mo na rin yan mapapansin esp. when your radio is on. Yup sir tidus has a point, and CRDI is 2000 rpm lalabas na power unlike in gasoline powered vehicles, 3000rpm + before lumabas ang power. Tipid talaga ang Tucson because it is a diesel powered vehicle. Nowadays we need to be wise.....financially-wise.

April 6th, 2009 10:17 PM #14Ang pinakamatarik na daan sa luzon ay bitukang manok sa quezon at kenon rd sa baguio city. so far po very smooth ang akyat ng crv with 5 adults and baggages.
crv - Maximum Torque (Nm * rpm) 197 * 4200
tsaka pogi po un crv 21st century ang itsura. less maintenance cost ang gas . fuel cost naman po mahal lang ng Php 9.50 un gas.

Tucson CRDi torque = 245.12Nm at 1800RPM
I think the RPM is the magic number. At just 1800 RPM you get 245.12 Newton meters of torque.
Well Pinoys love diesel, and I guess for a good reason being a poor country. The P9.50 is not a LANG. If added over time it becomes big. Also take note diesel has superior KM/L figures than comparable gas engines with the same displacement.

April 9th, 2009 03:28 AM #16me i drive Hyundai Sta Fe CRDi main + Honda CRV 1st gen alternate
from the two choices above: Honda CRV ako. why? it's more prestigious
2 it's cheaper in PMS. last PMS ko this april ng first gen ko sa casa is 5.9K lang, PMS before was July 2008 pa. yes 9 months ko hindi pina-service.
yun 5.9k ko fully synthetic so malamang balik ko sa casa, after 9 months ulit.
sa CRDi hindi mo magagawa yan even if you load fully synthetic for diesel, 3 months balik ka pa din and you'll spend 6k also every 3 months
mahal maintenance ng crdi.

is it truei? is it something to do with the vgt tech... toyota's crdi doesn't say so when using fully synthetic we just top up at least 1ltr after 5k of normal use (city driving/provincial trips) regardless of how many months but of course less than 1ayear...next change oil is at 10k...

Kung fully synth ang gamit mo every 10,000km ang full replace sa SF CRDi. Sa 5000km top up lang atsaka palit oil filter. Pag semi-synthetic or mineral oil gamit mo then every 5000km palit. Dinadaya ka na ng CASA mo Gen. Miting if they say to replace your oil every 5000 km (using fully synth), pineperahan ka na nila!

IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
