as for the question CR-V vs the Xtrail? i hate to say this to my CR-V buddies but i'd say xtrail din... mas high tech yung electronic AWD kaysa sa mechanically activated na RTAWD ng Honda. I hope Honda updates this in its future models.

Gwapo nga yung xtrail sa unang tingin...yun nga lang sablay yung sa likod... ang laki laki ng muffler nakalabas mukhang sasayad pag ginamit offroad.

yep Rav4 vs the V?... basta yung AWD rav4 panalo yun! yun nga lang ang sikip talaga ng interior. If you have 6 footer front passengers seating in front...say goodbye to legroom at the back hehe.

oo basta yung 4wd na rav4... kung yung 1.8 FWD RAV4 lang, cr-v na lang siguro hehe (basta wag lang yung 10-seater na cr-v, magiging 5-seater na ulit lahat ng FWD at 4wd cr-v sa wakas).

sobrang mahal na kasi ng mga malalaking SUV e, kaya mga compact "almost mid-size" SUVs na pumalit hehe

yep! AWD rav hehe.... kaya i'm not too keen in giving up my Gen1 CR-V kaysa kunin ko 1.8L rav ng sis ko hehe

Talk about interior room... uuwi sis ko pangasinan tommorow they have to use the CR-V kase di kasya yung box na iuuwi nila singlaki ng maliit na washing machine dun sa rav4. kahit tanggalin pa yung rear seats ng rav4 di pa rin kasya. dun sa crv...fold lang nung rear seats...voila! instant cargo room!

When it comes to suspension, I've read some not so good results with X-trail's performance on-road. Rather, Nissan emphasized the suspension tweaks for urban offroad excapades.

For suspension grading, hands down CRV beats X-Trail on comfort level during on-road. But for offroad use, it's the other way around.

BTTT, I actually would prefer a CRV4X4 if Honda would only drop the RT4X4!!!! Since hindi, XTrail na lang....

Just be forewarned... for some reason, ang baba talaga ng resale ng Nissan sa Pinas.... dunno why though since they make pretty darn good cars.

test drive mo yung dalawa para maramdaman mo yung suspension... i suspect the cr-v will have an edge in refinement and smoothness, and maybe on-road handling as well (just a guess).

yup... maganda nga talaga ang Rav4 (BIASED!)

how big is your fishing gear ba? as for space, oks naman siya para sa akin... napagkasya ko dati dun ang isang kubeta, bowl, and bowl stand... without even having to fold the seats down... 6 na kaing na mangoes na pagkasya ko rin... also got a roof rack just in case i have to do some serious hauling...

plus it has all time 4wd... which is something to look forward to come rainy days... am not to keen though on the 4x2 Rav4... since it is lacks ABS, EBD and has drum brakes in the rear.

aside from the Rav4, i'd go for the Outlander. looks quirky but it'll make people look. plus the back styling is nice. although trunk space might be tight since it opted to hide its spare wheel.

X-Trail? if compared to the CR-V, this is it! although from the front and side, it looks very conventional... almost too much AUVish... but the back is very very nice...

also saw a kitted X-trail this morning... very PHAT!!!

depende saan ako mag fishing but basically I always bring 2 big coolers, tapos yun maliit na shellane, mga pots, plastic containers, tackle boxes, reel bags, and yun rod bags, parang golf bags ang size....payat lang ng konti... bags, bait buckets, etc....

anyway x-trail din ako..kahit ngaun pwede ko tong ipagpalit rav4 ko sa x-trail, pero makina lang siguro and sana M/T.

btw city driving lang kasi un amin eh kaya kinuha tlaga ang 4x2.. and sis ko lang bumili kaya on a budget pero gusto tlaga ang rav4. plus mas mababa ang fuel consumption. oh well syempre sasabihin ko good side ng 4x2 hahaha love my own.

sa province medyo ok naman ang resale value ng pickup...like sa amin before power pickup, we bought it at 520K ata 1994 then binenta nung 2001 ng 280K, 7 years after... not bad na dba? considering medyo pangit daan sa amin. nissan pa yung nagsabi nagsabi

If you're the city boy, you can choose between the Outlander, CRV 4WD and the RAV4 AWD.

- The CRV 4WD is more comfortable and spacious. Its 4WD is good for on-road traction.
- The RAV4 AWD, although fun to drive, is jiggly (short wheelbase kasi), noisy (engine and cabin rattles/squeaks) and lacks space. But looks really nice.
- The Outlander looks more like a tall wagon.

But if you're the weekend warrior type, go for the X-Trail 200X or 250X. Their 4wd is good on the muddy trails.

If you want more off-road capability from your mini-SUV, look at the new Grand Vitara XL-7 or the Kia Sorento.

Test drive all of them and see which fits you best!

we went to a ford showroom recently na notice ko sa escape parang pangit ang pagka mould nung plastic.. lalo na dun sa vent above the side aircon vents..(i hope u understood that..)

parang may sobra sobra..parang yung mga cheap plastic toys..may sobra sa mga gilid.. kaya biglang ayaw ko na ng escape...hehehe
