    ^^galing mo talaga uncle nick!!!
you have a point having the xwind as the new car but buy the base model pareho lng din makina ng xwind eh,if ever xwind wag yung sportivo turbo overpriced kasi.
As what I have posted earlier,if there is no issue on money matters then go for 3.8 v6 genesis coupe or the chevy camaro/ford mustang(joke lng sa mga muscle cars)
darn it if may pera lng ako its either camaro or mustang.

you have a point having the xwind as the new car but buy the base model dahil pareho lng din makina ng mga xwind eh nilagyan lng yung iba ng tUrbo,if ever xwind wag yung sportivo turbo overpriced kasi,I felt sorry for my mother in law for buying the xmax sportivo 2.5 turbo w/the low tech engine accessories lng nag.improve, but were very thankful she gave it to us :D
Xwind is very practical, cheaper to maintain and less worries than those high powered engine crdi w/turbos na timing belt ang gamit yan ang advantage ng low tech :p
(no offense sa mga naka crdi owners).

Its very clear that when new technology comes the life gets better but become more complicated to those people who were used from low tech gadgets and equipments esp. sa dito sa atin, developing country kaya maraming lubak-lubak na daan.
Better get a practical and cheaper car ts para di ka lugi.

As what I have posted earlier,if there is no issue on money matters then go for 3.8 v6 genesis coupe or the chevy camaro/ford mustang(joke lng sa mga muscle cars)
IMHO being practical is soooo good in terms of car hunting/shopping, LOOKS maybe deceiving
but what's important is that you'll get your basic needs in having a car (aanhin mo yung magandang sasakyan kung lubak lubak naman yung daanan?)

SAFETY IS MORE than a PRIORITY!
    Hope this will help you.

    Happy car hunting ts!

Ayun naman pala may E36 and Prado eh. To hell with practicality and go with the GC! Although for 1M flat baka mahirapan ka makahanap. Itong Sulit ID 5031712 tingnan mo oh. GC 6MT at 1.25M with 19tkms mileage. Lightly tuned na yan to 283hp with all stock parts still kept should you wish to revert to stock.

I'd rather the E55. Maintenance for old Benzes is expensive, but maintenance for the 740 is downright scary...

binebenta na pala to, sayang naman, I saw this car personally kasunuran ko to a copule of months ago, along Roxas Blvd. heading to Mall of Asia. ganda talaga sa personal, so very ***y, saka ito rin yung participant sa Reflash tour Philippines.

    ----

ok binata ka rin naman, suggestion lang go for the Genesis Coupe, surprisingly it can offer an average 10km/L for mixed driving condition (of course still depends on how you hit the pedal) which is not bad fuel consumption, considering it is an sportscar ,oh btw that's for the 2.0 turbo 6speed M/T entrylevel variant, but some of the peeps here who own a Genesis got a lower fuel consumption somethin' like 6km/L because we all know that you really drive it real hard because that's the character of the GC, drive it like a sportscar because it's a sportscar. yan rin ang naisip ko e, kung may pera ako, bat pa ako mag-cCIVIC, kung halos parehas lang din sila ng fc ng GC 2.0. nasasakin na lang yun kung paano ko i-ddrive para magigng matipid. opinion lang naman.

saka ka na lang magBMW, kapag 25 ka na or early 30's/mid 30's.

Well, the GC 2.0T engine is basically similar with a Mitsubishi 4B11. If driven lightly without spooling the turbo, it should yield FC not far off from that of a Lancer EX. Pero kung daily driver mo yung ganito... Sa Metro Manila traffic and road conditions, kawawa ka at kawawa rin ang car.

yup, sports cars aren't good daily drivers. you should always buy a daily driver before buying a sports car, if you can't afford getting both then don't get a daily driver not a sports car.

To note: thie infamous Nikasil issues won't affect models built after 1995-1996... so possibly you can get a 740iL in your price range that won't have that problem... but modern BMWs are still scary expensive to maintain.

Seriously, I'd say go for a brand-new car over a secondhand one anytime. Get a secondhand lemon unit and see your headaches grow by the hour.

Always been my philosophy is that if you can't purchase it firsthand save/earn/swindle/kidnap-enough-rich-kids so that you can. With that, I'll tick the Honda Civic on the list. BMW might be great.. and driving it should be like eating Toblerone everyday but once something breaks down.... uh oh..

Let's be practical though. Get the 1.8 Elantra, spend some for car modifications (do note that this does NOT increase the value of your car) and the other for 2 years worth of gas expenses. Savvy?

Hmm~ A 180hp Elantra sounds nice. Considering the starting point, it won't be hard to attain too.

Honestly, except for the better steering feel and sound insulation, the 320i isn't anywhere near as exciting to drive as the GC. The GC even rides better (run-flats = ouch over gravel or rumble strips). Now if we're talking a 320d, that's fun. Still not 3.8 liter V6 fun, but fun, nonetheless.

i agree with this, this is why i would never buy an entry level euro car. expensive to maintain but isn't really that much better than a mid range/high end asian car. if you're going to buy an entry level euro car just for the brand then that's just plain stupid, that's like bragging about buying the ugliest/worst house and lot in forbes park masabi lang na naka tira sa forbes park.:bwahaha:

anyway if you're worrying about the maintenance of a euro car then that just means you still can't afford one. there's a difference between being able to buy one and being able to afford one. i know people who buy entry level euro cars just so they can say they own a bmw/benz then when the time comes for their maintenance ayun namo-mroblema. they remind mo of guys who buys fancy jewelry(rolex, diamond earings/ring) but nag cocomute lang because they can't afford to buy a car or your local jologs who has the latest gadget pero baon naman sa utang.
