If all other parameters are equal, sa Accord na ako. It is a class above Civic.

a 1996 civic is about 200k- 230k while an accord of the same year
    is less.

Kung ganito katanda na model, go for a civic. Mas praktikal.

Go for the Accord (Gen 5). It's way, way better than the EK.

I also considered the EK and the Accord when I was in the market for a 2nd hand coding car. Test-drove both, and the Accord came out way ahead (performance, exterior looks and comfort). Tutal sabi mo naman, FC is not an issue.

Yun nga lang, as others have said, parts are a little bit more expensive. Pati registration (mid-sized cars kasi naglalaro sa 6k and reg. fee, compared to ~2.3k for compacts).

kung brand new and maintenance and gas is not an issue, go for the accord. But if you are buying 2nd hand, go for the civic.

5th gen is ***y. IMHO

Honda Civic or Honda Accord
