Between the two, I'd pick the City. Though within the same budget range, I would be more looking towards the Jazz 1.5V or a compact (Altis, Lancer EX, etc.).

i.e. mas mahal ang maintenance, parts, etc.

City - more powerful engine, as reliable as vios, more spacious, with paddle shifter,5 speed auto, at par with vios re: maintainace cost ( bi annual only )
However, mas lata ang body, mas makalampag and mas mahal compared to vios. pareho lang sila nakadapa pag loaded and pareholang sumasayad

    "Prestige"

Funny because in other countries, Honda is a typical Japanese brand, dito napakaspecial ng Honda.

Ang nakikita ko lang na pagkakaiba nila eh sa Asian market lang yata yung City samantalang yung Vios/Yaris ay global ang market which should not really matter kasi nga nasa Pilipinas yung bumibili and pareho silang readily available both in the brand new and second hand marketplace.
"classy" is subjective, though IMO good indicator if public utility vehicle ang sasakyan or not. obvious example, whoever thought na "classy" ang AUVs like adventure, revo and crosswind?

also, do compare also base variants, spare parts price and availability. sama nyo na rin casa labor fees. certainly, honda isn't known to be pocket-friendly.

If you're spending such money for a TOTL sub-sompact, you might as well add a bit more and get a mid-level variant for a compact. There's another thread comparing the City 1.5E against compacts that fall within its price range.

Honda City 1.5E 2012 VS Toyota Vios 1.5G 2012
