You might want to think twice.

Optra is supposedly a gas guzzler but I really don't know since I never owned one.

In the same price range you could get a Suzuki APV 8-seater, Php 560k. Or you could wait for the Toyota Avanza, coming soon...
all cars are gas guzzler regardless if its an optra or not... right now the new optra is more fuel efficient, and before you said anything bad against the car try to own one and experience it yourself...

with regards to what you mentioned Suzuki APV or Toyota Avanza, hello! they're not in the same category... kotse hanap ng tao hindi AUV...

again just voicing out my opinion... okay

Tanong lang po..the Chevrolet Optra and Susuki Forenza, Daewoo Nubira are one and the same car? The difference is only the badge. Here are the pics: http://thehollywoodextra.com/Susuki/susuki.html

    Bakit ganon kuya?

The strategy employed was like those with china made electronics (DVD players) of the same construction, looks and features but of different brand names. Just name the brand and you have it.

Ang comment ko lang kase parang way of deceiving buyers eh. Halimbawa di mo alam na ganun. You are in the situation of choosing between Korean and American brand..so pinili mo Chevy kasi US brand yun.. tapos Korean brand din pala yun. So just like that..deceiving yung marketing strategy. Ang point lang po dito is sometimes pricing of cars go with the brand name. So pweding sabihin.. ah mas mahal to kay sa Daewoo kasi Chevrolet-U.S. 'to. No offense lang po sa mga owner. Opinion lang po 'to.

Actually, you really just have to do your research. Like with the Ford Ranger, Focus and Lynx... people might be turned off because they're "American" and not "Japanese", when in fact, the Ranger is based on the old Mazda B-series pickup, the Lynx is based on the concurrent Mazda Protege, and the Focus shares a lot of engineering with the Mazda3.

But I don't believe in buying a car because of its "nationality". I believe in judging each car on its own merit.

Atleast sa Ford medyo may pag kaiba seguro ang hitsura though they are based on same platform of certain product nang Mazda.

That's globalization. Better get with the program. It is not deceiving in any way because brands are just brands and they are not obliged in any way to represent any country in the free world. Electronic goods and home supplies have been like that for ages. That's how the economy moves now. Even Volvos share major bits with Fords and Mazdas.

If you know how to play the game, you can even make it work for you. Example: Samsung cars are rebadged Nissans. Ever wanted a 'cheaper' Nissan? Buy Samsung.

The Ssangyong Chairman is heavily based on the Mercedes E Class. Want a cheaper E Class? Get the chairman (I've seen one being serviced at a Benz shop).

GM (the people who own the Chevy name) also has stakes in Daewoo, Suzuki, and Saab to name a few. So they can use the resources of their other brands for the benefit of another.
