if you're problem is really about commuting...then dont feel cheated driving a 7 year old car, be it 8,9 or even 10 years older...
you're deceiting the purpose why you are looking for a car in the first place.

kung gusto mo lang ng porma .. 99 civic .. put in 19' rims (not ideal for ateneo parking though) .. engine swap .. kick-ass sounds .. atoy body kit .. shouldn't cost you more than 300K .. pag-tinapat mo sa any brand new car .. sino kaya unang papansinin ..

when i started in College i didnt get a new car from my dad ... hand me down lang na 2002 exalta from my sister who just graduated from College. Even if i wanted the new Mazda 3 ever since it came out i kept telling myself na... ok na ito and besides bago lang akong driver and i should be contented! and now nabwibwisit na ako sa 14" magz ko kaya papalitan ko na para medyo astig naman... woohoo no connection watsoever.

Trust me. You don't need a brand new car. You only need something that can get you from point a to point b without dying on you. If the beat-up old Civic can do that, what's the point of getting a new one?

get a war car. with the route you'll be taking, unless you have tons of cash to burn, manghihinayang ka once masagi ka ng jeep or another vehicle.

and yes, a new car will become "kotse ng bayan" so laspag agad yan. unless ok lang sayo.

yep chase at 17 i think your not that good of a driver yet, i go to miriam and althou we have better parking than ateneo, they're ryt, stick with the civic 99 muna gamitin mo nalang pang bump car...as they call it =>

kc even me kahit i have been driving for quite sometime now nahihirapan parina ako magpark lalo na kung along katipunan ka sa tapat ng national bookstore etc grrr badtrip, i even had this one time i was backing up tapos nabac-upan ko poste... hindi kase tumabi eh =>

money is hard these days and unless you really need it save-up. it"ll do good

and one more make sure your 99 aircon is in good condi, its extremely traffic there, sometimes it even takes me 30mins to get from commonwelth to mc and hot in the afternoons, its good to have a haven pag supper init.

Actually kung hindi talaga kami bumili ng 1.6V black na Mazda 3, edi sana ipapabili ko sana ay yung 2.0R WHITE na mazda 3... Pero ang pinaka-ASTIG ay ng white na Mazda 6 2.3L...

Well the 1999 civic VTI is not something na pag-tya-tyagaan.
Others are still crazy to own at least 1990 civic.
Maybe some paint works, a good mags and sound upgrade is all that it need.
I'm driving civic 2000 from time to time and still proud on how it looks.

They need these things to make them feel better about themselves, to boost their ego. When I was 17, and that was just three years ago, I never needed any of those. It's totally immature.

Get the 800K put it in a time deposit or whatever, earn interest, matutuwa pa sayo parents mo... or sabihin mo sa erpat mama mo na lang bilhan ng bagong oto.

Ok na yung Civic... practice car kung baga, wag mo muna ipa repaint, gamayin mo muna yung pag drive sa labas, its tough, may sasagi din sayo believe me, kahit gaano ka kaingat sila ang sasagi sayo.
