First time car buyer here. I have 130k to spend on a 2nd hand car. Tulong naman pumili mga sir. Here are my options.
    1. Sentra Series 3 EX Saloon
    2. Mazda Familia
    3. Toyota Corolla XL

Priority is low fuel consumption tsaka low maintenance. I can live without power steering, power windows, locks, etc. Pero gusto ko din sana ng malakas na aircon kaya first choice yung sentra. Also, gusto ko sana nothing older than 1995 for personal reasons. Salamat in advance mga master.

Wag Kia Pride, reliability is so susceptible. I'd rather get an small body Corolla than a Kia Pride that is newer...

I beg to disagree. Kia Pride is a great car for its price. It's cheap and relatively easy to maintain. Not to mention that parts are very cheap compared to a Toyota.

Whatever the car is, it really depends on the owner on how he/she uses and maintains it. Kahit naka-Lexus ka pa or BMW, kung balahura yung previous owner, puro problema yung unit. Comparing it to, let's say a Kia Pride or even a Daewoo Racer, kung maingat yung mayari, definitely maganda condition ng car and won't give the new owner too much headache.

Binenta kasi yung 94 corolla na yun for 130k around 3 years ago. Salamat!

Sentra consumes around 8-9 kpl/city, so i would say it is still reasonable.
pero, once you've tried driving a car with power features, you will never go back to a pawis unit. tutal gusto mo na din naman umasenso eh, why not give yourself a break and get a power equipped car?

eto lang ba choices mo? medyo malakas sa FC ang familia and sentra compared to the corolla, pero parang shortchanged ka naman kung corolla XL ang kukunin mo. believe me. hahanapin mo yan power steering as the time goes on.

    other choices:

    a. Corolla XE (nice FC, with power features)
    b. Lancer Itlog GLi (average FC with power features)

Oo nga.. daming nanlalait ng Pride... Andami kong naririnig na horror stories na thirdhand... and most of these are from people who know people who know people who run taxi fleets... pero have you personally owned one? I know one private owner who bought theirs brand new and sold it recently for a new car... never any problems. I know one taxi owner who loves it... kahit masira man daw, sobrang mura ang piyesa... and it's cheaper to run two or three Prides daw than one Corolla...

To each their own. If you believe everything taxi drivers tell you, LPG will blow up in your face, Hondas will fall apart over potholes, and Nissan engines will only last five weeks.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Kia pride ka nalang. Mura maintainance, and good fuel economy, dami pa spare parts sa labas.

Also, since the priority is to get from point A to point B with minimal gastos, pride ka nalang.

    Just my 2 cents.

You can try to look for a Sentra 1992 to 1996 1.4L manual tranny. It should be in your price range easy. Avoid former taxi units though. Give it a lengthy test drive and inspection. If there seems to be a major mechanical problem, walk away and look at the next available unit.

There are also the Sentra LEC-PS units with 1.3L M/T ... available models from 1992 to 1999. Many went to taxi companies and medical reps... but a good number of units went to private owners who kept it in good mechanical working order. Some are still gems so it might be worth the effort to look.
