None of the above. What I chose was the most fun to drive car for something less than 1M, the Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost. I never needed the extra space 'coz what I wanted was a daily driver which is fun to drive plus easier on gas expense compared to my old Accord.

The 1.5 will feel underpowered compared to the 2.0 Lancer or the 1.0 Fiesta Ecoboost. The 2.0 is kinda expensive. The rearview camera is also a work in progress pa lang for a third-party shop so you'll have to make do with the built-in 4-eye reverse sensors for now. Why not schedule a test drive?

but alternatives are the altis and the new mazda 3..... gandang ganda ako dito eh. hehehehe.
Same with me. Maganda din yung bagogng Mazda 3 but its much pricier than the GTA.

*TS : Advantages of getting the Mazda 3 is that you will get the new SkyActiv of Mazda. Hindi ata sya CVT pero I think it almost have the same space as the Lancer GTA. But if you like the GTA because its much cheaper now, go for it. Para sakin okay na GTA.

Nope it's a conventional 6AT. Nice AT though. Has paddle shifters too.

    Choose wisely

An officemate showed me their new Mazda3 2.0R. It looks great! It would not be in the most recent 10 Best Cars for nothing. Comfortable seats, 18" wheels, great dashboard, etc. Too bad, he did not give me the chance to drive it. I wouldn't mind giving him the keys to try my Fiesta Ecoboost in return.

Based on specs, the Mazda 1.5L seem to be underpowered knowing most compacts today are above 1200kg in weight. The Civic FB 1.8L has the best power-to-weight ratio among the entry-level/mid-level compacts in the market. The Civic FB just looks bland though.

Mitsubishi definitely made more profit selling it at 1.2M even with lower volume than they will be making now at 990k. Kailangan lang talaga magmove ng stocks kaya bagsak presyo.

Even at 1.2M it sold pretty well relative to the Civic 2.0, Altis 2.0, and Mz3 2.0.

    Kung yan ang choices mo
I'd go for the lancer GTA
more powerful and sporty but you have to sacrifice fuel efficiency
If your budget is around 1.2M ( GTA orig price w/o discount)
take a look at some entry level
    SUV like Sportage,Crv,Montero,Mu-x
and sedans like the Altis, suzuki Kikazhi(not sure w/ spelling),
    Sylph,Mazda 3,Volkswagen jetta,

Well, I changed my current list of cars.

    1. Honda City 1.5VX+ CVT with Modulo Aero Sports Package. (970K - 1100000)
    2. Mazda 3 2.0L Sedan w/ BOSE package A/T (1,298,000)
    3. Toyota Corolla Altis 2.0V AT (1,201,000)

rank them according to your choice

If you have the budget at gusto mo talaga yan, go for it. Sulit sya compared sa ordinary mazda 3 2.0. Kasi 100k lang ang dagdag tapos ang daming features na naidagdag. Pero if you're looking at 1.5, malayo na ang price at hindi na sulit. Depends on your preference

Why not the ordinary Mazda 3 2.0? For me not worth it yung Mazda 3 Speed. The black rims are ugly.

The City is way overpriced. The Altis doesn't drive as nicely or feel as high-quality or look as good as the Mazda.

Also, since you're in this price range already, ayaw mo ng Montero or Sportage CRDi?

Same as what jut703, go with the standard trim of the TOTL Mazda3 2.0R. However, if you feel like spending a bit more for the Bose package, then run with it. I would not even consider getting a City VX+ with its tag price of almost 1M. What more with 1.1M? It's as if those Modulo accessories will make wonders to improve how the car drives which it will not.

    1. Mazda 3
    2. Toyota Altis
    3. Honda City VX+ (I'd get Civic instead for this price range)
