    Hello Tsikoteers,

I don't know if you know so much about these rare cars. But I would appreciate your opinions. My brother is now working in NZ and he badly needs a car with a really really tight budget of 1000 NZD. He needs an automatic, with heater/airconditioning, and most of all fuel efficient gets 10 km/l or more.

Well, here are the some of my searches. Usually 1990 below

    1.
    1985 Honda Civic
    146,000 kilometers
    1300 Petrol, Automatic
    $1000 Non-Negotiable
W/O Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and a Motor Vehicle Registration

    1989 Subaru Justy
    Good Condition
    A/T Needs Attention

P.S. Can you guys help me find more cars under the budget? NZ guys, help me narin. Please.

    Thanks. Very much appreciated!

That's the 3rd gen Civic and comes in either FWD or AWD. IIRC that is the generation of Civic prior to Honda coming to the Philippines which they brought the 4th gen. I had a friend that had the exact same model you show and it rode pretty well.

The Justy comes in AWd or FWD and also was the first vehicle in the US to have CVT transmission. AFAIK the A/T only comes as CVT for the Justy so that may be more costly if it needs attention. If it's a 89 model then it's a true Subaru and not a rebadged Daihatsu or Suzuki as the later gen would be. BTW it's a carb engine not efi.

The Charade is pretty muche exactly what you would have in the Philippines.

Size wise Justy is the smallest then the Charade and the Civic. Personally I would get the Charade since it is said to be excellent condition and has a warranty.

    *JJ,

    New Zealand

Thanks. I personally would love to own the 3rd gen Civic. But then it's older compared to the Charade which is also a reliable vehicle of choice. My brother will be starting his work this Monday, and one of his must have is an economical car since public transport in New Zealand are scheduled.

I believe you are also into Nissan's right? What do you think about Gen 1 Primera? There are also pre-1990 Subaru Legacy. But I don't know if it'll be economical?!

    Just checked this out.

    Toyota Corolla Wagon
    1500cc, Automatic
This car is a great run about. Never had any problems with it - had regular services and just keeps on going!
It has been fantastic to own and has been a great performer for us.
The paint job on the roof needs touching up and theres a few minor scrapes (from other cars) on the bumpers. Smokes a bit at start up due to oil leak.
Radio ok but cassette deck doesnt work.
It has current WOF and Registration till Sept 08
Tyres all in good condition and comes with Thule roof racks.
Safe, reliable and cheap to run!!
