August 2nd, 2011 11:32 PM #1Hmm~ exclusivity should be a more appropriate term, since there are indeed fewer A4's on the streets than the more common C-Class and 3-Series. For me, the A4 seems to exude more of an intelligent and successful high level young executive/businessman feel than the other two as well as a more respectable image.

Chedeng: the best for somebody who wants a luxury car with a more "classic" look with some technical refinements. I just don't like too much its Kompressor superchargers, nowadays a turbo is a better option as far as fuel-efficiency goes. Even the turbo-lag is less noticeable than it was until some years ago...
BMW: it's more "sporty", I like its straight-6 engines more than any V6.
Audi: I would only consider to buy one if it was a TDI.

August 4th, 2011 12:20 PM #5very true especially for the bigger Mercs although here in the Philippines most 5 series and E Class are not owner driven. When we were choosing between the current model 5 series and E Class and test drove the cars, we had my dad's driver test it as well and nahirapn sya to use the i-drive ng BMW.
I would say the new CGI engines of the Merc are really good. Smaller displacement, turbo charged and more fuel efficient.

Good engines, their turbocharged setup seems to be quieter than older Kompressor ones and more fuel-efficient. But the best stuff from Mercedes-Benz are their diesel engines, reported to have a legendary reliability (and having more interchangeable parts with Ssangyong than its gasser counterparts it can reduce the maintenance cost
).
