Meron po kaming 2008 Ford Ranger MT 2.5 XLT. So, majority of my comparison ay based on the ranger. Parang benchmark ko :D

Ngayong araw na to I drove a Toyota Fortuner 2.5 MT VNT for around 300km, mixed hiway and city driving here across Agusan and Surigao. Nakahiram ako sa tito ko hehehe Odo reading is 5000km running to 6000km. Around 3 months old pa lang.

I also drove an Innova, pansin ko lang ang gear shifter of it is very similar to the fort.

Of course, baka nasanay din lamang ako dahil magaan ang ranger dahil pick-up nga.

No question sa interior features (i.e. touchscreen, multimedia system, etc..)

I drove a Fortuner (non-VNT) a couple times already and currently drive an Innova both 2012 models. Their stick shift is quite different. IMO, Innova's stick shift is smoother because it is newer.

Fortuner really feels underpowered. Many already pointed out its body size relative to the engine torque.

IMO, you have to worry yourselves on other important things other than the stick shift.

Mine's a 2009 Ranger XLT Hi-Rider w/ 5 speed AT and it really is a brute and packs a lot of punch. Sa tulin at overtaking di ka papahiyain, but be ready to shell out some cash dahil malupit din sa laklakan. I had the opportunity to drive a 2008 Fortuner na matic din kaso nahiya ako subukan ibirit kasi nakasakay yung may-ari kaya sorry I can't give first hand comparison. Di pwede compare yung ride nila sa Trekker ko kasi "I bought a truck, not a car" so I really don't expect a car-like feel ng ride sa Ranger ko and I love it like that.

The Montero shifter is not as bad as the Fort shifter, but still clunky, and the clutch is typically stiff (have driven several).

The VGT engine does have more punch than the old Ranger 2.5, but the extra torque of the Ranger and lighter body means it's not slow, by any means. At high speeds, it can't keep up with the Monty. If we're talking about the old 135 hp non-VGT engine, no match. The Ranger walks it.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Really, no question about its power kahit sa 2008 Ranger XLT namin na MT. Ang bilis umarangkada. Driver na ang bahala

No question din sa ride feel, ang sarap compared sa ranger and yup I agree na we can't compare it to the Ranger since it's a truck.

I actually don't mind that much about the clutch. I'm getting used to the stiffness of the Ranger :D. Pero kung ganon eh wala na talagang magaw except to get used to it :D.

Yup, sometimes I wish I bought the manual kasi mas less ang ungol ng makina.
