    hello peeps,
    im a newbie here
im about to buy a new car ( diesel engine)

test drove ford everest 4x2 and santa fe 4x2
had bank approval for both cars
choices/ reason (not necessarily in order...)
everest - power, safety features and lower price ( way lower than santa fe)
santa fe - engine, ride (way better than everest)
strada - havent done any testdrive yet but i heard ppol say that the comfort is like that of a car. plus it's 4x4 and cost almost the same as the everest.
i usually travel from zamboanga to davao or general santos city once a month
(much like covering the entire mindanao area)
    roads are sometimes unpredictable
need something comfortable and reliable auto (sturdy)
your comments would be highly appreciated
    thanks

Both the Strada and Everest are great vehicles. They are like apples and oranges. Better test drive the Strada first. Then decide. Pick ups are not for everybody.

If price isn't a concern, the SF is a great choice. It's interior is way better than the Everest and the engine is more powerful. Though if you're on a budget the Everest is not a bad choice either.

The Strada is also a good choice, though think first about your needs... do you really need the bed of a pickup? Will you really use the 4x4 system? You're sacrificing the 2 more additional seats + a covered trunk space if you're getting a pickup.

I know what it's like driving there... Test drive before you choose.

My friend drives his old everest 4x2 approx 150kms a day to his farm almost 6 days a week. I never heard him complaining or the car ever quiting on him. Power is sufficient, what more with the new gen everest. His mileage is about 145,000kms now and still doesnt belch smoke.
Strada 4wd would seem awesome on offroads
Santa Fe IMO is great on long stretches of highways.
You cant go wrong with either 3 choices, just choose the one that meets your requirements. Good luck

    thanks for the info guys.....
    keep 'em coming.... (pls?)
sounds like the everest is a good choice, my concern though is that the 2nd row seats are low (though they have a big legroom to compensate), the 3rd row is a turn off if i bring some friends with me....
santa fe (Damn! the ride is so good!), but pricey.
can the IMO stand the rigors of the trip in the long run?
ive read in some threads that santa fe is more of a soft roader
sounds like the strada is a strike anywhere vehicle....
but i dont have much use of the truckbed....
    any idea on the FC?

Well, it depends on what "off roading" means to you.

If it is just a dirt road with mud & loose gravel (that even jeepneys can traverse without a problem), then the Santa Fe can handle that (though the Everest will still be the tougher of the two).

Ask yourself again if you need the 4WD capability of the Strada (since you don't need the truck bed). If jeepneys & trikes can go thru the roads that you are traversing, then I don't think you'll be needing Strada's 4WD.

bro im from mindanao din. na subukan ko na zamboanga to davao and i drive a gen2 everest 3.0. wala ako masabi sa comfort 2log mga pasahero ko parati pati na ako inaantok na rin and sa power hindi ka rin mabibitin sa everest na 4x2 hav driven it already.

i know the roads here and IMHO baka kc hindi tumagal dito ang stafe thats why we got the everest instead.

    peace mga stafe owners! :D

Yup. Sa everest ka na lang.
Santa Fe is for well-paved roads lang. It doesn't have a ladder frame for
    toughness on off road condition.

Of the three the new gen Everest 4x4 3.0 will be the best for your requirements.
Sta. Fe and the Strada have their own strengths and market.

Haven't driven yet the strada so I can only choose between Everest and Santa Fe.

If you really need it for off roading then get the Everest. Santa Fe's chassis is only designed for paved roads (on-road) since it came from a car's chassis. Also you are sure that the everest will last this tough road condition. Santa Fe for me is not yet tested so reliability is still a question.

    yo guys!
    thanks for your advices.
twas a difficult choice to make.
    i settled for a tucson 4x4
    i figured i needed a 4x4 more than a big space
i usually travel alone, with a smaller 4x4, i guess i could go almost anywhere na...
i just hope i made d right choice

Yes,- you can never go wrong with a Tucson 4x4 with its 2.0L CRDi engine and 4-speed A/T....

    Congratulations!

natawa ako sa thread... two vehicles that can be compared, and another vehicle totally different..and

finally neither of the three was choosen..a totally different vehicle was bought..

but nevertheless...its a good choice for the thread starter...at least he ended up with something that meets his requirements. congrats.

Hi, if you had 1.5 mio, will use the car for 5 years, travel mostly in the manila but will sometimes go out of town to visit the in laws, family of three (infant ang anak, then may yaya pang kasama), will it be the santa fe 2.2 or the everest ice limited 4x2?

Ive heard the good things about the santa fe, but the Everest ICE limited has a good entertainment package for the kid and good safety features.

    thanks

Thanks, what do you mean ICE you can upgrade?

Its actually a company car, but whatever I choose will be my ride for the next 5 years. If Santa Fe, I will shell out my own money, though p38th lang naman. Kaso sa everest, ICE limited na with accessories, and no shell-out. Im just wondering if the Santa Fe is worth the shell-out vs what the ICE limited can offer.

Not to be biased but for an urban warrior the extra shell out for the Santa Fe is worth it over the Everest...

ICE is In-car entertainment. You know DVD, audio and stuff like that. Those can be upgraded outside anyway...

Ford Everest vs. Hyundai Santa Fe vs. Mitsubishi Strada 3.2
