Actually, the Fortuner is very easy on the eyes, and it's not that big. It's just about as easy to park as an AUV (except for that huge blindspot caused by the rear windscreen and C-pillars).

The Escape is a good value, but the one to get is not the V6 4x4 anyway, and the 4x2 2.3 Escape is nowhere near the same price as even the base 2.5D Fortuner.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Column mounted shifter (esp. the manual) feels weird and it actually slows me down. The automatic shifter of our 2nd gen. CRV feels awkward and weird for me to want to drive it. That's why bet. the CRV or Fortuner I'd rather drive the former bec. of its floor mounted shifter.

Especially true now that even diesel cars like the Fortuner have ECUs that can be damaged if water gets into the cabin.

On some vehicles, how much you can ford is only limited by how high the intake is.

Stock Pajeros can ford hood deep water should the need arise. As long as the driver is properly trained and the situation near ideal (standing water, no stopping while crossing). The intake gets air beside the headlamp. But should it go under, it will draw air from inside the hollow part of the front fender. Some 4x4's also have a similar set up. Though fording such deep water on a regular basis is not adviced.

The Fortuner has the ECU under the front seat. But water will not automatically enter the cabin even if you ford above the lower door line. Not unless you stop midway or accidentally open the door.

Just curious, why do you say so ("but you have to pay more")?
