Eh may sign of leaks daw sa shock absorbers and palitin na ung trailing arm bushing and rusty engine support. But the ride is still good per company mechanic. Tapos ndi pa sya 2012 registered since '0' ang end ng plaka.
Then, may isa akong friend may vios sya batman model na. First batch nung september 2007. He's selling it for 360k. Tawaran ko pa sana ng 350k eh. (sana pumayag). Vios 1.3E kung kayo sir ang papipiliin, considering the fact na 2012 registered na ung vios and modelo prn sya ano ang best decision po dito? Pls pa-help naman. I'm torn. Btw, 345k pala ung honda city 2008 1.3A m/t idsi. Pls help!

    2008 Honda City 1.3A M/T:
    345k kasama transfer of ownership
    37k mileage
    Steel Rims
All power (windows/ steer/ side mirror)
    May Door visor na
Hindi pa 2012 registered kasi '0' plaka

    2008 Toyota Vios 1.3E
    360k
    45k mileage
    Mags (stock)
    Power steer and windows
    No door visor

So, modelo prn sya unlike the city phase out n un eh. So, ano ba tlga? :-) thanks in advance.

if memory serves me right, yung first generation city ay hindi napapalitan ang trailing arm bushing sa harapan. buong assembly ang pinapalitan. mahal..libo.. ganyan ba din ang 2008?..
leaking shocks, rusty engine support.. sounds like an abusive user, considering 2008 lang yan.. 37K mileage? i doubt it.. considering the repairs already in line..
i'd pass this up, if it were me.. i'll say the loan was disapproved..
vios na lang siguro. generally cheaper and more readily available parts.. i doubt if it can get much worse than what the city is already showing..

Nag-earnest na ko sir ng 5k eh. Nag provide na sya ng pnp clearance. Mababawi ko pa ba ung dinown ko? And pano dskarte dun? Huhu.

Sna mging ok ung vios. Para swabe na ang lahat. Papa-check ko p rn un eh. Thanks sir. Baka may ideas pa kau as to what to choose and why, pls help. Thanks.

    Yup natatamper din siya.

Regarding sa buong assembly, siguro. Marunong si dr. d sa kotse eh. Tsaka meron kami Honda, magastos talaga yan. :hysterical:

i wish to make a correction. hindi naman ako marunong... matanda lang at may karanasan... heh heh. what i contribute here is mostly from experience..
and that was the first generation city. i don't know if they had since made changes.. i am hoping others out there would inject more information and make corrections if necessary.
and today's shock absorbers are no longer the 18 inch long units of yesteryear.. today's front shocks support the front weight of the car! they will easily cost a few thousand each if one doesn't watch it... and i am wondering why they would need replacement after only 4 years.. they usually last longer..
i wish this internet were available when i was younger.. it would have saved me a truckload of money..

From the top of my mind, Vios. Seems to be more matibay versus the City overall based on the abused units at office before.

Sir hindi 4 years ginamit eh. 2008 model sya pero na-acquire SEPTEMBER 14, 2007 yung City. So malapit na sya mag five years. Give me rough estimate naman mga sirs about dun sa price ng 2 Front Shock Absorbers ng City 2008 idsi and trailing arm bushing po. Wala kasi ako ka-alam alam pa talaga. First car ko sana kung sakali and auko sana ng sakit sa ulo. tight budget eh!
Kanina mga sirs, pinuntahan ko ung Vios 1.3e. First batch sya ng 2nd gen Vios. Please help me po. thansk thanks!

Btw, sbi ng tropa kong nag ba buy and sell mas matbay dw pang ilalim ng honda. how true is that mga master? WHICH IS WHICH BA TALAGA?

    Honda City 1.3A M/T idsi 2008 model:
    345,000 petot
    sep 2007 acquired
repairs will cost roughly 10k (Front Trailing arm bushings and front left and right shock absorbers)
    37k+++ mileage

    2nd gen Vios 1.3E
    nov 2007 acquired
    355,000 petot
not sure kung may for repair ***papa check palang
    47k+++ mileage

Waaaaaaaahh, patulong mga masters!!! SALAMAT NG MARAMI!!!

Add ko lang ung City hindi pa sya 2012 registered since end plate is "0" tapos ung Vios 2012 registered na kasi end plate is "4" so upfront cost again for the city's registration sabihin na nting mga 5k.

So total upfront cost for city is 345k + 15k (repair) + 5k (registration) = 365k w/ transfer of ownership
    Sa vios naman = 355k + 2k pnp clearance = 357k + 5k (transfer of ownership) = 362k

    Waaahhh dikit n dikit

Our 2006 honda city vtec with 49000km mileage is still running ok. No repairs done sa pang ilalim. i would say its still running fine. What i like about the city is its big and wide trunk, bigger than a vios, if trunk space is one of your consideration.

Tsaka ung head unit mas modern ung design. Tsaka un nga mas mura dn imaintain kagaya ng sabi nio.

Iniisip ko kasi syang dn ung earnest money ko dun sa city which is 5,000 petot.

So medyo biased ako.

Oo, same body. Actually new variant lang lalabas sa September. Malamang next year pa lalabas yung all-new Vios.
