depende yan sa yo.. kung may budget ka naman na 50 to 70k for repairs as you have mentioned that should cover any issues in both cars (including the pizza suspension issues). that's assuming you don't get a junker..
good luck!

Kung pang car show... I wouldn't get a Lancer or a Civic... gasgas na ang mga yan.
If you can burn 20-30K/month on modifications, then why not a classic or muscle car? Yung sa last Transhow dun ako sa restored Ford truck (with a matching bike sa bed) na pa wow. Kapag usual sedan or SUV halos hindi ko na tinitingnan.

For a car show? Nothing beats a 70's Corolla, Celica or Lancer... purchase it for peanuts. Restore it completely. Swap in a modern engine... say, a 4G63 or a 4AGE.... chrome everything, go NUTS!
There are lots of Civics, Corollas, Lancers, etcetera on the car show circuit. It takes a lot to differentiate yourself (how about a Lambo-doored, 4AGE-powered Kia Pride... oops, been done... )...
Look at uncommon cars with potential, then decide.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
