We're planning to replace our family car which is a 2005 Mitsubishi Adventure.
What would be a good replacement? Currently here are our choices.
    1. Mitsubishi Xpander GLX Plus AT - P960,000
    2. Mitsubishi Montero Sport GLX 2.4 4x2 MT - P1,413,000 (Expecting a huge cash discount)
    3. Toyota Innova 2.8 J Diesel MT - ₱ 1,118,000

    Considerations:
    1. Cost
    2. Only issue with Xpander is that it's Gasoline
    3. If it's between Montero and Innova, the feeling is like "Onti nalang idadagdag may SUV na"

Budget is around 1M to 1.2M
Pahingi naman po ng inputs nio regarding our choices like angles na possibly na ooverlook etc.

The Innova, being an MPV, has better ingress/egress and useable interior space as compared to the Montero. Ground clearance is still considered respectable. Air intake height would be similar to the Fortuner and Hilux so wading depth is good. Tires are smaller and therefore cheaper.

All these would be for nothing though if you don't like the way it looks, and it takes priority over the practicality provided.

Like may back camera na yung sa Monty and Keyless Entry.
Okay na rin yung wheels and yung may Multi-Information Display Control at Cruise Control?

    'Bare' is relative.

Go check out the car before you buy.

    Others to consider

    Innova
    MuX 1.3m
    Xpander
    Rush
    Mobilio
    Brz

Well, the Montero is supposed to be much more expensive than the base Innova. And it is still unknown as to how much discount you can get. Higher variant Innova's do have the features that you mentioned.

But then, a decent touchscreen head unit plus backup camera will set you back perhaps 15k. Keyless entry... Probably around 3k thereabouts depending on the brand. Alloys, perhaps 20-30k a set? Trade in the steel rims for a rebate.

So you'll go with the Innova?

You'll never go wrong with the Innova or Montero, visit th actual units of your choice variants to really see and appreciate which one you'd choose. Personally, I'd go for the montero.

since cost is your #1 consideration; i would assume that maintenance is also a big part of that. Will this be your daily beater? What is your average mileage per year? If you will run this for 30K Km a year or more, get the innova, cheaper tyres, cheaper fuel/more mileage (diesel); carlike comfort and everything that was said by previous poster. However, if you will barely clock in about 5K-10K Km per year, Xpander will be enough. Imagine the difference in acquisition if used for fuel; goes a loooong way. (since price difference per liter of gas vs diesel is getting narrow)

I would choose Montero if it was me. But for you i suggest the Innova. Why? You were using a Mitsu before so mag-Toyota ka naman. I promise you won’t regret it.

Is it the current version na? Ilan na ang mileage? Depending on the condition of the vehicle, I might consider it. Especially, since the price difference is so big.
