had that same dilemma before, picked the exalta for bang for buck...didn't regret it til t'was time to resell
resale value, go for the civic. if your going to keep it for sometime & like your creature-features,exalta..i didn't even bother w/ the ford coz resale is worse than the nissan...lancer's the oldest body/engine yata amongst your choices, i'm not really sure

Actually, the low resale value of the Lynx works in your favor if you're buying secondhand. Try to get an 02' or higher MT... the price is nearly the same as 00's from other manufacturers.
The Exalta is a good car, though...
A Civic VTI is very solid, mechanically, but it offers less kit than either the Ghia or the STA... and no airbags on that year model, I think.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Among the four, I would probably get the Exalta. Just my feel, parang the Exalta does not come across like a typical 1600 compact. Parang may more luxurious feel siya for its time and class.

Lynx Ghia.... but get the newer facelifted model 02 i think with the same gadgets as the Exalta but drives better.
00 GLX Lancer only has 1.5L Carb engine... not worth it...
00 VTi lacks features too.

September 1st, 2006 10:30 AM #9Vti for me.
The bestseller on those cars during their times is the vti. Compare their reliability, performance and ownwership costs right now and you can come up with either vti or Exalta to choose from.
At the end of the day, you will have to choose the one that you like and will make you happy.

Here's my list:
1. 99-00 Civic Vti
2. 00 Lancer Mx
3. Exalta STA
4. 00 Lynx Ghia
Varta used as replacement battery in German cars ... but they cost double that of Motolite ... not...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
