A Stock Jeep Wrangler would have damaged itself by that depth... Even a Kia Pride patay na dyan! Not unless if were talking about a monster Kia Pride and your monster Everest.

With regards to 2.2 crdi of sta fe, hyundai it is widely known na 1st gen crdi lng yan, samantala sorento is considered 2nd gen, and rexton and other new engines by isuzu and everest is 3rd gen. So power wise mahina and outdated and sta fe compared to the latest gen. crdi (you could check the engines specs for that). Comfort wise I owned 3 honda cars for several years so I know what I am saying that comfort is comparable with my new everest 2007. And when I say comfortable I mean riding through uneven aphalts and small potholes and not even feeling it - that comfortable. I am not saying the sta fe is not comfortable. Also what i am very sure of is that the 3rd seat of sta fe is alot cramp than everest (I tested it several times.)

for me, ford is the best automobile company when it comes to SUVs.. ford pick ups is the best....

i think hyundai don't have experiences on having good 4x4's unlike fords and toyotas.

i have to agree. between my Sta. Fe and my dad's Ford Explorer, pangsabak talaga yun Explorer sa Philippine roads. sa Sta. Fe kasi pag nalubak ka parang iba tunog parang may makakalas after 3 years

ingat talaga ako sa Hyundai lalo na yun sabi-sabi sa Starex thread na may tumutunog sa pang-ilalim habang tumatagal daw basta harabas ang gamit

the sta fe is more comfortable than the pickup like everest. mas comparable ang Honda suspension sa Sta Fe, that's why I love 'em both (brands).

And again, even if its not a 3rd gen CRDi... The Sta Fe is more stable and better on higher speeds. Moreover, a lesser center of gravity than the Eve.

The Sta Fe could reach 190 kph! Now thats what you call a 1st Gen CRDi... or not...

Question... when are you going to need that power and torque? Not unless if suki ka ng startoll or sa NLEX.

Hyundai's CRDI is not 1st gen.

How can you say that Santa Fe's 2.2L ay mas mahina sa sa Sorento's 2.5L. The specs shows It has More horsepower and torque than Kia's 2.5. It has more Horsepower/Liter ratio than fords 3.0L duratorqs diesel.

im not really sure if this is first gen, anyway 1st gen man or 3rd gen, its the performance that counts. why dont you compare it with all this other/ 2nd gen Diesel Engines ?

i sat inside the Everest( drivers seat,2nd and 3rd row) yesterday before i testdrove the Focus TDCI. Legroom and ceiling height is ok, but it's not as wide as the SF, so medyo compressed feeling ko sa Everest. even my friend, who owns an Everest,atest to it. i really cant imagine what make you say that SF's more cramped? feeling mo lang masikip kasi di siya mahaba gaya ng Everest. halos yuko na nga ako sa Everest at makitid. plus lang for Everest is the bigger space after the 3rd row. im 5'10 but i do sit in the 3rd row with my kids on long drive without getting tortured or even shaken.

Maybe 3feet is the 'bow wave' created by the Pride as it pushed through the water. I used to ford bumper deep water and water would sometimes crest the hood [much to my delight]. hehehe.

I had to resurrect this thread coz I finally made my choice. It's Ford Everest 4x4 and I'm going to get it this weekend.

It was painfully difficult not to choose the santa fe, but, it's just that I don't fit in the personality that exudes out of that vehicle. It's more of a city sleeker rather than a cigar-spitting sabungero. In the end, what prevailed was my need for a ladder-framed true 4x4. Perfect for the sometimes frequent trips way way down south and occasional forays to farm roads and boondocks.

P.S. Sa totoo lang, dito sa San Pablo City, iisa lang yata ang santa fe, samantalang napakaraming 07 everest, pati yung gen 1. Sa Maynila, ang dami namang santa fe. Iba yata ang pangangailangan ng mga probinsiyano?

Sir lui, sori sa pangungulit ko ha tapos di pala ako kukuha .
