    Factual?

Fact: There is a Ford pick-up with a 2.2 liter diesel.

Fact: Hyundai and Kia don't make pick-ups, aside from drop-sides with the ancient 2.7.

Complaining that the 2.2 liter Ranger is underpowered is like complaining the Accord 2.4 is underpowered because Hyundai's 2.2 liter diesel makes 190 horsepower and kicks ass. It doesn't matter because the Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima only come with 2.5 liter gasoline engines.

And all the on-paper stats in the world don't matter compared to real-world results. Peak horsepower or peak torque alone mean absolutely nothing. What matters is what the engine puts out over the entire rev range and how the gearbox translates that into acceleration.

Just ask the "145 hp" 1.8 liter Corolla Altis. Or the "135 hp" Focus TDCi...

I have always wondered about the 145hp of the previous Altis. I remember that the USDM version is advertised with 130hp only, and then the following 1.8L variant locally had an advertised 132hp.

Uptil now has there still been no one from the Philippine motoring media who have been able to drive the 2.2L Ranger yet? I thought Ford would have brought one to Beeboy by now.

By the way, do you have the facts, figures, technical specifications, comparison, test drive results to justify your claims? Just asking are you a technical/ automotive expert or a car salesman?

sir nickriingen... why o why did you ask??? pupunuin tayo nyan ng graphs, charts, gear ratios and their computations... tapos babanatan nya uli ang paborito niyang punching bags (nissan navara and montero/strada)...

tapos at the end of the each post... eto sasabihin nya...

"what you are saying are merely anecdotes..."... kaya sir niky and the rest... FOR D_MAC, YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO REVIEW TRUCKS...

    o happy days...

This holds true, based on experience. Our Hi-Lander, a survivor of Ondoy waist-deep flood in our area (Laguna Lake) is one of the only few vehicles (others being Crosswinds, Hilux, Montero and light trucks) seen running on our same-old, two-month flooded street so far.

TS: Not that I would suggest you get one (I know you would not ), just confirming Niky's post.

Pag meron ako ng kahit isa sa mga SUV, Pick-up, etc. na sinasabi nyo dito, mapa low horsepower yan or high horsepower, CRDi, Direct Injection ek ek ... Turbo Intercooler, 4x4xFar ...........

Hindi ko ilulusong sa baha yan! ...

Yeah... but it's complicated. The US downgraded the rated hp when they changed SAE procedures for measuring Net HP. They closed loopholes in terms of test temperature, octane and accessories.
