Performance will favour the Ecosport as that 1.0L turbo engine is quite potent. Fuel efficiency may be more reliant on driving habits. The 1.0L turbo consumes gas like a normal 1.6L NA engine with my experience on the Fiesta.

eco is taller and has more ground clearance. you could load taller objects in the boot of the eco as this pic illustrates

quality probably goes to the vitara. the ford is infamous for the faulty DCT transmissions. as well as having very low quality rear door actuators (premature failure), and fan resistor coils which lead to overheated engines

btw the body sheet metal on the vitara seems thinner compared to eco

Anong engine ba ng Vitara nitutukoy u?

Under the skin, the Vitara gets a range of 1.0-liter and 1.4-liter turbocharged gas engines, which replace the existing 1.6-liter gas engine. In the United Kingdom, basic SZ4 and mid-range SZ-T variants will come as standard with the 1.0-liter engine, which produces 110 horsepower (82 kilowatts), while the top-spec SZ5 model will get the larger 1.4-liter unit with 140 hp (104 kW).

The new Ecosport comes with a traditional 6-speed AT tranny, unlike the previous gen which had a DCT. This is the same 6AT tranny on the current Focus Ecoboost.

In 4 years of ownership of my Fiesta Ecoboost, I have had no issues with its 1.0L turbo engine even with my spirited way of driving, no overheats or turbo failure. It requires though low viscosity fully synthetic oil (5w20 or 5w30) and fuel must be 95RON at the mininum.

In terms of performance, foreign sites say the new Ecosport Ecoboost is not that quick (10+ seconds from 0-100kmh) but they might say the same for most of our local vehicles here. Not as quick as the Fiesta Ecoboost but quicker than an Everest or as quick as other small crossovers with bigger engines.

I seriously doubt the Vitara can match that performance from its 1.6L NA engine unless it is much lighter than the Ecosport Ecoboost. Is there any indication of Suzuki bringing over their turbo engines to the local market? A Swift with a 1.6L turbo will be surely something fun to drive.
