apv carry dropside is gasoline powered - meaning less threat from "asbu"wayas.

That should tally up... the a/t version we had at the office was doing 5km/L++ to 6 and that was with a heavy foot. The m/t should do at least 8.
Overall, the Mitsu is easier to maintain because of sheer availability of parts and mechanical knowledge but the APV will encounter less headaches with the ASBU and LGUs as long as you keep it clean and non-noticeable (keep it looking like a private vehicle). Best to keep the APV properly maintained though (regular PMS, cleaning of sensors, etc.) and don't expect it to wade floods like a L300 FB driver may do; It will still serve you well.
