hello po all tsikoteers, need your honest advise naman po.

I am buying a car now an i am now confused after hearing different recommendations. As a matter of fact, Nabuo ang lahat ng decision ko nung basahin ko yung City vs Vios na forum. Way back 2004 inabangan ko itong poll na ito, i remember malayo ang agwat ng Vios in % to City way back then, but this year i was surprised dahil iilang % na lang ang lamang ng vios. I was a Toyota fan since i was a kid, but after reading that thread i decided to taste the Honda. Now i sold my prev Toyota Gli, kept the money (dinagdagan ng konti) and now Im buying a City. But there are things na nakakapag palito sa akin: Eto yung CVT ng Honda.
Eto kc napili ko kc my purpose is:
    1. To have a fuel econo Car
    2. To have a good resale value car, (dahil baka mag-migrate rin ako later 3 yrs from now at most). Note: I have 2006 Honda City 1.3 A/T Model 15Tkm currently buying at the moment pero di pa kami set, nagdown lang ako konti as reserv fee.
    3. At makapag pa-sosyal naman ng konti, iba raw kasi pag Honda sabi sa forum.

Ngayon, what i want now is: I am waiting for a Honda CVT user here in TSikot na "Pigilan ako sa decision kong ito at bakit ako pipigilan, please share your experience". Sana po yung honest CVT user ha...

Yung Hindi Honda CVT user, you are welcome to comment.

    maraming salamt po...mabuhay ang tsikot.

CVT is more smooth than regular AT and also more fuel efficient. Wag lang talaga masira kasi thats where its painful compared to regular AT. Also yung CVT fluid sa Honda lang nakukuha so mas mahal while sa AT tranny fluid almost any car shops have one. Pero in general, I would vouch for the CVT.

we have a 2005 1.3 jazz idsi & so far its smooth cvt tranny has never given us any headaches so i can't really dissuade you from getting a city w/ a cvt. pero iyon nga lang maselan ang cvt ng honda kaya tulad sabi ni bro tidus, kailangan exclusive honda fluids lang ang gamitin mo dito kung hindi sasablay iyan at baka tuloyan ka bigyan ng sakit ng ulo. mahal pa naman daw ang pa-repair nito at hindi maski sinong shop ang kaya mag-ayos nito.

so dapat talaga vigilant ka sa schedule ng cvt fluid change para iwas problema

It depends on abuse... if the previous owner abused it, the CVT can experience clutch wear, just like a manual transmission car (except in this case, it takes longer to wear down the clutch packs, and replacing them will be more expensive than a clutch replacement on a manual car.)

But a City 1.3 iDSi is less likely to have been abused than a Jazz 1.5 CVT... so you should be relatively safe.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

CVT A/T or regular A/T
