If i have 650k, i'd use it as downpayment and get a brand new Santa Fe CRDi or Sorento CRDi but that's just me. Brand new backed up by warranty is always better for peace of mind unless i can get an mid-80s porsche or ferrari for that price :D

go for the 2.0.....1.8 for an SUV is under power.
2.0 consumes more gas than 1.8 of course, but it will compensate for the pull.
It's not really underpowered. The previous RAV4 is lighter than the other CUVs, thus, even with a 1.8, power is sufficient. Other CUVs are notoriously thirsty for gas, even with the pulling power of their 2.0s. In heavy traffic, a CRV can hit lows of around 4.5 - 5.5 km/l (my uncle complains his K20-equipped 4x2 CRV drinks nearly as much as his 4 liter 4x4 Explorer... 7 km/l... combined city-highway). Ford Escapes are no better, and, despite what others may tell you, no worse than CRVs... hitting 4.5 in heavy traffic and only 7 km/l in light traffic city use. (The Escape V6, though, is extremely thirsty, but then, it's really fast)
There's no reason, so far, to believe the Outlander is any better.
The X-Trails are supposed to be relatively fuel efficient, but some owners complain, too.
The previous RAV4 is much smaller and lighter than any of these CUVs, thus, its fuel consumption is relatively low, whether in 1.8 or 2.0.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
bakit po yung lumabas na 03-04 na rav4 eh 1.8L at hindi 2.0L? I mean parang mas bumaba ang engine kesa sa lumang model? and lahat po ba ng M/T rav4 eh puro 1.8L lang esp mga 4x2?
sir pag 4x4 2.0L na ung engine nya na may A/T and M/T. ung 4x2 1.8L tas puro M/T
Comment lang...I think the crv's interior is puny too and it's a gas GUZZLER. 5-6km/l lang ang crv.
xtrail 4x4 2.5L vs crv 2.0L 4x2.both a/t. crv has worse fuel consumption of the 2. this are from relatives and friends with crv and xtrail. im using an xtrail. i can still get 6-7km city and 10hiway. and xtrail has bigger engine.
good point about the crv. interior is quiet compared to xtrail maybe due to more sound deadening.
i have a friend with a rav4 J. i like the interior though smaller boot space. its more fuel efficient. this is the vvti engine. all wheel drive. and the suspension is nice with stock wide tires.
escape. most friends complain of gas consumption and overall not satisfied.
but then again. xtrail wouldnt be winning those mini ute awards for 3years straight, i think, if its not a good minu ute.. go with xtrail. half the price from brand new. wouldnt depreciate much anymore. reliable engine. cool a/c. etc
yup it has the same engine as the altis and its not underpowered ... 4x2 lang naman yung 1.8 engine na rav4 plus it makes 145hp the 2.0 makes 148hp sa torque lang nagkakaiba
the xtrail is actually a very good vehicle it has been with me for 2 yrs na ok na ok namanwe also have the rav4 1.8l matipid din ito we can get arund 9km/l
xtrail naman fuel consumption ko is about 6-7km/l but lagi ako naghahataw kasi hehe 6000 rpm shift plus its on 18s rims cone filter and exhaust![]()
hi mga bro, im planning to upgrade from a/t civic to "mini" suv ... ano recommendation nyo? big factor ang fuel consumption , a/t rin (di ako sanay ng manual :D) , 2001 to 2004 , 550k to 700k budget .TIA![]()

among the choices...I'd go for the Rav4. Di rin sya kasi masyado nakakasawa tingnan and mukang mas ok pa sya dun sa bagong ni-release. (in terms of looks ha)
