CRDi SUV comparo: Tucson 4x2 vs. 2011 Sorento 4x2

to update this thread... I got the Tucson GL CRDi over the sorento.
Why?
1. Wifey & I still ain't over the Kia brand, though I know sister companies ang 2. Plus the bad experience with the Carnival & the dreaded Pregio!
2. Tucson was already available. Cant wait 6 months for the Sorento. Even the manager of a Kia branch wasn't sure of its arrival.

So in the end, I had to let go of the Sorento but I'm sure it'll be a good SUV and hopefully they've addressed of their build quality issues (Kia).

did you had the 1st gen carnival? Talagang sakit ng ulo yan.. The 2nd gen carnival has a lot of improvement in terms of quality over the 1st gen ...

Tucson vs Sorento is like comparing apple with orange.. Ibang catergory yung dalawa.. IMHO, the Sorento has a lot of advantage over the Tucson.. Yung biggest advantage nya ay yung 5+2 seating arrangement nya na wala ang Tucson..

Walang pila ang Tucson CRDi. Sobra nga sa units. Yung Tucson GLS Theta II 2WD parin ang best selling * 1.158M, bargain price na.

*Edit: Tama ka doon sa Badge sobbery. Hehehe. Since bilihin ng Hyundai ang Kia, gumanda na ang qualtiy ng cars nila. Ipon mode na ako for Sorento CRDi DeLuxe or Sportage CRDi Premium.

I see... akala ko kasi mahaba pila because one of my friends was considering to buy the CRDi three months ago. Tagal daw ng waiting list so he ended up getting the 1.5 City which was readily available.

* grail: it's not brand snobbery naman, but bad personal experience after having two old kia's that would break down is an unforgettable experience. Parang dati rin na sinabi namin before buying the 1st gen carnival na maganda na siguro ang kia, ayun sakit ng ulo.
Pati nga brother ng owner ng Kia Commonwealth who's a good friend of mine, nagcomment sa akin na madami features ng new carnival ( Daming features, better than the Previa IMO), "pero Kia pa rin eh". hehehe. Happy naman sya sa Sorento premium nya until na-ondoy. Actually, may advantage pa nga ako since i can be on the priority list of the pre-selling sorento pero sila rin no clue ang dating!

If may available na sorento and tucson crdi's, mas masakit sa ulo pumili. But maganda pa rin ang tucson, all 177 horses.
sorento lang nga is 197 horses. hehe

Actually ang suggestion ko nga sa kanya was to get the 1.8 Civic FD na lang since di naman malayo yung presyo sa 1.5 City and I heard the FC figures are also close.

Actually my friend's selling me his few-months-old 2010 Sorento 4x4 gas for 1.4M only. Of course maganda sya BUT patay naman ako sa FC, so I didnt get it. And I really wanted a brand new unit.
