Magkano ba kasi ang budget? Kung 200+~300+k OK na ang Carnival (M/T only, A/T is known for transmission woes), or you can opt for a converted Previa like this one Toyota Previa Estima 2001 | Cars for sale Manila | AyosDito.ph (2.4L) or this one Toyota Previa 3.0 V6 AT | Cars for sale Mandaluyong | AyosDito.ph (3.0L). They're less than half the price of local Previa's, are just as comfortable, and better equipped.

Baka mahirapan si lola sa Fortuner. Ang taas! Matagtag at masikip pa. You can do something with the suspension, but that requires money. Lots of money. Mahal na nga ang Fortuner, gagastusin mo pa. If she wants SUVs, get her a Santa Fe. Minivans? Grandis, Previa, or Carnival. I'd suggest minivans over SUVs. The 3rd rows of minivans are much more spacious than those of SUVs.

For me, better ang choice for MPV or van lalo na kung hindi naman mag drive si lola...

Same with my grandfolks. Swapped out Camry coz they weren't feeling the Starex. Too big and too tall.

Carnival or Previa. More space than the Fortuner, but lower ride height and better ride.

Fortuner suspension can be modified using aftermarket mods but that just means you'll be spending more money on a brand new vehicle.

Why does "lola" want a seven seater? Does she always travel with her whole entourage?

For me it's merely a fluke, an isolated error that doesn't discount the overall build quality of the MS as a whole.

For the grand matriarch of the family, it should be a Mercedes Benz!

    ano ang options mo bro?
generally, bigger luxury cars like the accord, the camry, the cefiro have really comfortable rides.

Ano nga pala budget range ni Lola?

Kung 7-seater, the Starex is a bit high for old folks if they're already physically challenged. Try checking the Grandis, Carnival, Chrysler Town and Country CRDi, Previa (by order only) and the Alphard.

When our great grandmother was still alive, our grandmother's affluent younger sister saw to it that she had her own personal driver and vehicle. She liked that particular vehicle very much and noted that she had no difficulty in getting in and out, and found the ride quality comfy enough. At that time she was already in her 80s. That van was a Kia Pregio. She went through three Pregio's in fact. One in 1996, then 1999, then 2002. Once they replaced the 2nd Pregio in 2002, they replaced it with a supposedly more upscale, and much more expensive Hiace Super Grandia. Our great grandmother didn't like it, and kept complaining about the harsh ride. It was immediately sold and replaced by another Pregio. In fact we noted that the Hiace's plate number was XCJ-xxx and the Pregio's plate number was XDS-xxx. She died in 2005 at the age of 92. During that year, that Pregio was sold and they never bought another Pregio again.

*TS: I suggest you let your grandmother see the various choices that you have picked. Let her narrow it down, then bring her to see the cars in person. So that she can have a feel of it herself.

yes, comfy talaga.... same with kia besta noon.. walang sinabi yang hi-ace kahit yung grandia ngayon..

naalala ko tuloy nung binenta namin yung kia besta noon.. tuwang tuwa yung nakabili.. ang sarap daw sumakay sa likod (middle seat behind the engine) ang lambot daw di gaya nung hyundai grace at L300 na tiningnan nila hehehe

well.. maganda talaga yung mga long wheel base na kotse, mas comfy talaga yan, yung carnival ko dati maganda din ang ride kahit puno ng pax level pa din yung kotse...

if i will be the one to choose.. kia carnival LWB na... tamang laki lang.. hindi sobra hindi kulang.. low ride height para madali sumakay, plus powerful diesel engine.. J3 din ata na CRDI ang nakakabit dyan eh..

yung carnival ko dati J3 engine 2001 model naibyahe ko with 10 passenger plus driver, 3-4-4 ang sakay plus baggage pa sa likod (not on the roof)...

mga koreans kasi particular sa space at comfort... kita nyo madalas like starex may "limousine" version....

sa kanila nga pag sinabi mo limousine, expect mo isang malaking bus ang darating....

Matigas yung ride ng current Carnival. A bit better than the Starex, though.

Grabe nga... walang makaka-compare sa Kia Pregio na cab-forward van in terms of ride comfort. Sayang na discontinued na!

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

That van's engine seemed to have wanted to be discontinued the moment it left the casa haha.

    Noisy and stressed like crazy.
