Makina: Walang pinag-iba.
Exterior: The 1998-2000 EK Civics use the so-called "global" look, as shared with the Civic SiR. Mas malaki at mas mahaba yung rear lamp assemblies, tapos natanggal yung black moulding sa bumper corners. There are a few other cosmetic tweaks as part of the "global" look, but the ones mentioned are the biggest giveaway.
Interior: Wala rin masyado pinag-iba.

wala po pinagkaiba. 99 and 2000 model lang naiba na (SIR look). pero ang upholstery ng 98 iba sa 96 at 97. maliban dun wala na. engine pareho lahat, 96 to 2000.
used to own a 96, 98, and 2000 VTI.

99 model nag start yung facelift.
96-97 pareho lang
98 ganun pa din except for some new dark shade colors (royal blue vs horizon blue, dark green vs bright green etc) and that the VTi badge is now metal instead of stickers from 96-97 VTis.

AFAIK, the metal badge "VTi" came in around for '99 and upwards models.
For '97-'98 models, they introduced new colors like the Dark Blue, Gray, and changed the shade of the green and red to a lighter and brighter shade.

Nope. Prior to the facelift, last batch of the early EKs had this metal badge. Observed those late 98 VTis with plates starting at "W" against some with plates starting at "U".

All locally manufactured EK Civic LXi, VTi, SIR (1996-2000) never had any airbags nor ABS available, as either standard equipment or option.
