    Calling all owners and experts, I would like to get your personal opinion between the two cars.

    Because these two are my final pick for my very first car.
    Here are the difference on the two units based on my research:

    1. Chevy Spark
    SRP P495,000 - less P15,000 on DP - 20% = P84,000
    Chattel, Insurance and LTO for 3 years ALL IN!
    3 years warranty or 100k
    Monthly for 48 months is 11,698 / 60 months 10,7++
    Features:
    Power front windows, steering, doors, keyless entry /alarm, fog lights, rear wiper/washer and rear defogger. (Still bargaining for freebies)
    1.0 engine (size almost like the Picanto)

    2. Hyundai Getz
    SRP P488,000 - DP 20% = P97,600
    Chattel, Insurance and LTO for 3 years ALL IN!
    5 years warranty or 100k
    Monthly for 48 months is 10,+++ / 60 months 9,9++
    Features:
    Power windows (all), steering - bargained for keyless entry
    1.1 engine

    It seems that the Spark wins overall in the features inclusive, however, the Getz win in the warranty and of course reliability and spare parts availability.

    I am a first time car buyer and I hope to get all the necessary inputs before I buy a car that I would be paying for in next years.

    IMHO, getz 1.1 has a bigger space compared with the spark.

    Getz na ako. For a first time buyer you also have to look at how cheap it is to maintain the car. In that regard, panalo Getz.... You could also take a look at the Picanto if you want...

    I will choose the Chevrolet spark over the Getz, why?

    AFAIK Spark is already jampacked with features: Power Windows & Locks, Alarms, Immobilizer, Foglamps, rear wiper, third brake light and even an MP3 Player

    i own a Chevrolet, and so far so good. MyChevy did not gave me any headaches or whatsoever.

    Go for the Getz, a bigger and more substantial car for the money. Not to mention that Hyundai keeps on getting better and better these days.

    I am late on this conversation, however I am on the same situation. So what car did you finally end up buying? Spark or Getz?

    According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kia_Picanto
    the Picanto is based on a shortened Getz platform. So if one was looking for a car with a 1.1 engine, wouldn't the lighter Picanto be a more logical choice rather than the bigger/heavier Getz?

    Logically yes. And the market has been partially taken over by the i10.

    Venture....Optra....Spark....the list of Chevy cars that failed to impress after purchase is getting longer.

    It seems the only one that upped the ante is the Captiva.

    Well... considering the Spark is basically a Daewoo Matiz... a design so outdated that it doesn't even score two stars on any modern crash tests and forms the basis for Chinese cottage-industry disposable cars... that's to be expected.

    The Optra is also a Daewoo... as is the Aveo... the Captiva was designed at GMDAT (the "new" Daewoo) and is probably the only truly "modern" cheap car Chevrolet sells here... though some things still need improvement (handling, dashboard, power).

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
