January 6th, 2012 11:13 PM #1im planning to buy my first car.. around 100k lang budget ko coz im saving my other money for Business. gagamitin ko sana para sa baby ko pag pinapasyal.
ano mas maganda in terms of fuel consumption?
madali pormahan?
availability of parts?
what about mga power windows and power lock? possible bang installan ang charade nito?
plese enlighten me. thanks in advance.

January 7th, 2012 02:16 AM #2Wag na... Ang pangit ng dalawang yon. The Daihatsu brand is long gone in the Philippines and the Pride is the main reason the Kia name went sour here. For 100k, I suggest you consider getting a Nissan Sentra. Kakasya ang mga B13 at ilang mga B14 for your budget though some of them may need haggling. For B13's best get the 1.6ECCS version or the 1.4EX Saloon and higher variants for the B14. Best avoid the LEC variant of the B13 and FE variant of the B14 since these are carbureted with low power and poor gas mileage.

January 7th, 2012 05:10 AM #3salamat sa reply kahit madaling araw na. actually kaya ko pa iextend ang budget ko up till 150k. main reason ko talaga is para maluwas ko yung anak ko from antipolo to batanggas pag bibisita kami sa byenan ko. so ang pinakamganda sana is yung very fuel efficient. tsaka yung maganda interior para sa mag ina ko. any other suggestions?
pinagpipilian ko tlga charade and pride kase sa 100k medyo higher model na at sure na fuel efficient yung dalawang yun. thanks sa suggestion mo i will now include Sentra sa choices ko.

January 7th, 2012 09:29 AM #4Ayun naman pala eh. But if your maximum budget is 150k, best reserve some for the repairs. So Antipolo to Batangas pala takbo mo so malayo... Which means cars like the Charade and Pride would not be very efficient dahil alam naman natin lahat na mahina ang makina. Power to weight ratio is very important here. For frequent highway traveling, its best to get a car with a more powerful engine so that it uses less fuel at higher speeds. In this case, you're much better off talaga with the 1.6L cars. Since you can extend your budget beyond 100k, the Sentra really is the best choice for you since you can get a much newer car for your money as compared to getting a Lancer or Corolla. By the looks of it, maximum of 1999 Sentra's can fit your budget.

Walang kwenta yung Charade & Pride.
And that's one reliable car. Kung gusto mo bago bago, pwedeng Sentra since mababa naman resale value nito.
Or Lancer Pizza, looks good. Suspension sucks.

The looks are somewhat dated but its a really good car with great performance to go with it. I have a relative who had a '94 Lancer GLXi for 16 years. Nilaspag niya ng todo todo, panay Baguio-Manila ang tinatakbo at pinangkakarga ng mga organic na gulay from his farm in Baguio. Nung binenta niya (for a lowly 70k) it had ran way past the 200000kms mark without giving him any hassles with the engine still running smooth and capable of speeds in excess of 160km/h.
Pwede rin ang 1st gen Honda City. If you don't mind the looks, its a really nice car with great performance and excellent fuel economy.

I'd vote for the Sentra also. Not badmouthing the other cars pero napaka-tibay ng makina ng Sentra. May no-maintenance unit kami na ginagamit dati (95 series III ata yun) and it stood up well to abuse. Timing chain pa so no timing belt to snap. Mas expensive than the usual door pero matibay so wala gano kalampag kahit luma na.
