Montero in White! It's perfect for a tall guy among your choices.

If you could afford an SUV, go for it!

Medyo may problema ang Ranger ngayon eh. Personally, what with the hearsay of turbo and tranny limp mode problems, I'd stay away until all lemon issues are officially resolved.

For a basic truck with little issues I'd go with the Hilux or Strada. Absolutely no problems when it comes to parts and mechanic familiarity. As with any modern pickup worth its salt, both are sturdy workhorses with punchy engines (with some turbo lag) and excellent flood wading capabilities as proven during all the major typhoons occuring through the years both were available. However, a pickup plus canopy or bed cover and perhaps a wheel upgrade will probably end up costing the same as a base model Montero or MU-X...

I may be biased, but the Strada gets my vote (we already have one!). It holds the distinction of having the tightest turning radius, biggest backseat and most comfortable ride (not sure if all of these still apply), all of which are big priorities for the city dwelling pickup driver. Of course there are minor gripes like the plasticky interior, lack of grab handles, handbrake position at the far side of the center tunnel, undersized cupholders, ridiculously undersized wheels (for the 4x2 variant)...

A truck for a bachelor? If I were a chick, I won't get near one with a ten foot pole...

It's either a car or SUV.

    Why?

After hearing "sayang yung ganda nung ka-date, sa trak sinakay..." at a gas station, I knew then trucks and great chicks don't mix.

    But that's me... ^^

Why wouldn't a "chick" like a pick up? I think it's very macho. I even considered buying a pick up for myself but I was discouraged because of the ride comfort. "Great chicks" should not mind what car a guy drives. My friend's sister was popular in campus for her looks and guess what her BFs car was? An F150.

Since the TS is going to buy a brand new car, pickups should be fine with anybody

The problem of that high maintenance girl was that she probably rode in a ratty old pickup

Whoa... Whoa... Don't shoot me; I'm just the messenger...

I said I heard other people say it. But now it's out, I tend to agree that probably 'prom queens' may shy away...

But, there's a lot of great women out there (more macho than me ) who won't hesitate backriding in a pickup or jeep, and hurl invectives at errant tricycles or stupid pedestrians as they pass by.

I should know, too. I married one ^^

I think I read otherwise bro....

Ry_tower o bro.crazy_boy.... .... Panalo!....

My experience with my own pickup proves otherwise. 😈

I was driving a pick-up back in college and it never got any qualms from the girls (some of them were even chauffeured daily to and from campus in Range Rovers, Cefiros and LCs). It also stood above the sea of Civics and 'Rollas which were a dime a dozen in the parking lot. Heck, when my daughter starts driving, one vehicle i will strongly consider for her is a pick-up even.

Put3,- who told you that???? Si bro.clavel malamang....

Ma-ahit na nga ang tutsang na ito at marami ng kumokontra....

In the ME,- para hindi ka ma-rape,- you have to look mean and smell bad....

I remember a few years ago, when I was attending a technical school/seminar in Singapore,- a couple of our lady classmates from Taiwan and Hongkong were telling me that most of the guys there do not sport a mustache.... And that mine was "***y",- with giggle pang kasama....

Oh well, I just have to breathe a sigh of self-control and whistle my way out of the conversation...

Manyakis signature kasi ang bigote  So you really are half evil huh?

BTT: TS should go for a pick up or SUV. It looks good for tall guys. My Dad is around 6 foot tall too and he used to drive a pick up.
