Honda's supply issue is killing the potential of the Civic. Cumulative 2017, the Civic still has higher sales, but if they don't fix their months-long backlog, Toyota will regain the top spot for the compact segment.

The shortage isn't artificial either - the shipments are really few and far in between, and the only way to get a Civic quickly today is to go provincial.
