Been a Honda owner for more than a decade. They do build reliable cars. Jazz vs Accent -- the jazz just feels and looks more well built.

Misplaced fanaticism does nothing to help facilitate a rational and informative discussion. If one believes that his car of choice is really as great as he portrays it, then simply stating facts and objective comparisons alone should make it a runaway winner compared to the rest of its competitors.

But the fact is, not everybody thinks alike and every person has unique tastes. One does not get the right to dismiss another car as inferior just because he personally can't see the value in it. Another person with different value judgements might find that after careful consideration, this car that has been blatantly scoffed at might be better value for him than the popular choice.

I find it rather petty and insecure to have to prop up a particular car at every given opportunity. A great car is a great car is a great car. No need to keep tallies, no need to put down others.

Nakakagulat man, pero sa ilang taon ko dito sa Tsikot, marami-rami na rin yung ganyan talaga kakitid mag-isip. As in they have that kind of (ir)rationality, as in they're not even joking about it.

we can't please everybody, yun lang yun. we just have to respect each others opinion since this is a public forum. iwasan ang violent reactions at wag padala. kaya cool lang sa mga involved. anyway, seems both are just living by the statement na "love your own". cmiiw na lang, Starex_Gold, since you have several Hyundai's also.

back to topic, to answer the TS questions:

    1. fuel efficiency - the new Jazz actually gives out relatively poor fuel mileage compared to its older brother. even the 1.3L new Jazz has a relatively close FC to the 1.5 counterpart unlike sa old Jazz wherein matipid talaga yung 1.3L.
    2. low maintenance - basing it from feedbacks, seems like both have their pros and cons in their respective dealers. i for one is not a fan of dealers due to its horror stories (lalo na sa Honda) kaya i have my Jazz serviced outside religiously. going to 4 years, no problems, never needed warranty claims.
    3. maganda features sa loob (steering controls) - not familiar with the interior of the Accent pero madami features ang Jazz 1.5 EX compared to the usual 1.5 na galing Thai.
    4. porma/looks - unang tingin, hands down sa Accent because it looks newer. pero kung popormahan mo, syempre hands down to the Jazz.
    5. value for money - you pay for the brand sa Honda, they have their shares of poor quality (paint especially sa mga Jazz- both old and new, madali kalawangin) and exclusivity (yeah, madami sa kalye pero di ka naman makakakita ng taxi nito). i for one wouldnt recommend a Jazz and just get a Civic FD (kung Honda lang din) if asked 3-4 years ago. honestly, i would have gotten an FD value for money-wise and performance-wise. if you're into modifying cars, wag na Jazz. madami na ren tuners who gave up on the new Jazz.

here are my shares of the Jazz' pros and cons

    Pros
    - Honda, synonymous to good quality... true but not in all aspect like as mentioned sa paint
    - easily modifiable due to a lot of aftermarket parts available
    - surplus parts are plenty, since this is available in almost every part of the world
    - flexible cargo space... was able to place tires and rims by just putting the seats down or 2 bikes inside

    Cons
    - expensive price tag, you can buy a bigger car, slightly bigger engine for a cheaper price or at least close to it
    - paint sucks big time, madali kalawangin, madali mag-chip, mga talsik ng bato, you can see the metal already.
    - casa horror stories
    - daming parts available, magastos

thats all i can think off. if you want a compact car with big cargo space, go for the Jazz. other than that, get something else imo.

This then gives you the option to either buy an Elantra with a more powerful but less torquey and definitely less fuel efficient engine coupled with a bigger body and more features, or an Accent with a spankin' hot diesel engine. At the end of the day, it's still an Accent, but that's not necessarily bad. Class leading interior space (referring to subcompacts), elegant interior, catchy looks.
Ako din tingin ko di magiging 850k yan kung same spec ng 828k blue. So most likely babawasan ng specs yun kung target nila talaga is 850k. Sana retain ung 16 mags.

Yup most likely it will be less spec-d than the blue, it can even be as bare as the 1.4 units -- for the 6MT units at least. You just have to pick between features or engine.

*basti08: Maybe it's time to change your 1.5L CRDi Accent? :-)

Realistically speaking, if they wanna keep it under 900k, the only features that they can take out from the GLS Blue variant are the leather steering wheel, the automatic climate control, and Bluetooth connectivity.

It'll be a bummer if they also take out the fog lamps and an airbag.

Ts if i were you Suzuki Jimny nalang kunin mo. Matipid naman din to sa gas at mura pa maintenance, mataas din ang ground clearance kaya pwede pang lusong sa baha, at higit sa lahat Hindi ginagawang TAXI.
