AFAIK, pareho lang matibay since we have both units at the office (Canter and Elf), although i noticed there are more Canters (possibly cheaper to acquire?). It will depend on the actual condition of the unit if you're buying the second hand and regular maintenance.

Why not invest in brand new units? Light trucks are not that expensive to acquire brand new ... IMHO.

And you will save in the long run on maintenance issues, plus you get factory warranty.

Speaking of brand new, what i see a lot now are the China trucks. No idea on longevity though...

dont get me wrong madami din kaming subic vehicles - but best is brand new

yes! never buy a china made vehicle for now, baka maHAIMAk buhay mo at FOTONin ka sa kalsada

For me mas matibay ang Canter, yung mga trucks sa amin consists of 4wheel Canters (local 1st gen), 4wheel Isuzu NKR aka ELF (local). Of the 4 NKR's that we have on our fleet yung 2 naka 4BC2 na ngayon the other 2 naman naka 4BD1. While yung mga Canter namin na mas luma eh orig na 4D31 pa rin ang makina although lahat yun na overhaul na, not bad for a truck that is already more than 20 years old.

In the last 7 years we bought 6 units of Isuzu Forward wing vans all of them surplus from Subic and all of them ayos na ayos pa to date. Importante lang na may kasama kang marunong tumingin when buying a surplus truck.

parang mas marami akong nakikitang elf compared to canter. kaso both are notorious targets for asbu-waya's.

A relative of mine bought a China truck before. Problem with these seem to be substandard quality of engine components. Mabilis bumigay mga piyesa. And then yung pintura nung binili ay kulay puti, di nagtagal dirty white na at nagmumukha nang grey. Not to mention na nangangalawang na after around 2 years. JAC tatak nung truck.

Personally, I find Fuso engines to be more refined and quiet than Isuzu engines. Both are excellent workhorses and you shouldn't go wrong with either one as long as you got a unit that is in good condition, and have a driver that will take good care of it. I suppose the reputation of these trucks rely largely on word-of-mouth. Different countries have different preferences. Here we may prefer Isuzu, but in Taiwan you will find that almost all the trucks are Mitsubishi.

The brand new local Japanese light trucks available still use old school diesels. Some variants may have added turbo intercooler, but that is not new among the Japan surplus.

malayo ba ang fuel consumption ng 3.6L to 4.3L engine para sa isuzu NPR? ano bang mas bagay? iniisip ko baka underpowered ang 3.6L. or baka naman fuel guzzler ang 4.3L. thanks

We just acquired a Bnew Canter FE71 (4 wheels only/no truck ban). 3.9L Turbo. We chose this over the Isuzu NKR kasi 2.8L NA lang makina, not to mention tad cheaper ang Canter at 1.085M net of discounts. Although they say mas matipid daw at mas mura i-maintain. I doubt that'll be the case kasi mabibigat talaga ikakarga namin. Also, we had a surplus Canter also which serves us pretty well. Ngayon papahinga na sya. hehe

    NHR is 2.8 li 4JB1. 3.5 tons

    NKR is 4.3 li 4HF1-II. 4.4 Tons.

What type of rear body do you plan to put on the Canter ? And which company (ie. Centro, etc..) do you plan to have it made ? Thanks!

PS: Our company is also studying these two models (Canter and NKR).

2.8L or 4.6L na agad. JAC? Forget it.

Value for money? Try nyo Hino. Extendable to 11ft pa ang standard chassis nila. No extra cost. 4.0L Turbo engine. Toyota din naman Hino.

    Number001,

Alam ko customized yan to fit same as a 10 Cubic FT container. So a bit oversized.
