Need to choose one. . Ang pagpipilian is a Nissan Cefiro (last few units ng Elite) 2002 and a 2004 Camry 2.0E (pinangbayad lang ng may utang sa akin.)

    Additional information on each unit:

    Cefiro
    approximately 57,000kms only
New tires - changed last October 2006 yata
New battery - last September 2006 yata
    K&N drop in filter
Bagong linis ang aircon nung April
New Power steering and alternator belt - this July lang
Brake pads - this July lang din
approximately 260-280kms ang isang full tank (city driving)
Kenwood 2din na radio bought last August 2006 yata
    Comprehensive Insurance

    Camry
New battery - last October 2006 yata
New Power steering and alternator belt - this July lang
approximately 350kms ang isang full tank (city driving)

Hope somebody can help me in choosing. Want to dispose one na kasi medyo mahal mag-maintain ng 2. Thanks in advance.

Wala akong driver. Between the two, mas mabilis umarangkada ang Camry. One suggestion sa akin is sell the two and get a Camry na lower ang mileage. Ang downside though is mukhang akong driver....

Bakit 130,000kms na tinakbo ng Camry? Kung due to frequent long highway driving (i.e. every weekend umuuwi ng probinsya, etc), ok lang yon. I'd rather choose a car with 100K highway kilometer than one with 50K city driving kilometers. I'd choose the Camry, unless ginawang 'taxi-service' sya dito sa metro manila.

my instinct says that i would go for the camry.

but in this case, i'd go with the cefiro.

mukhang bugbug na yung camry. 2002 model, palit na ng power steering and alternator belt? dubious. tapos pudpud pa gulong.

in any case, it would be hard to re-sell it. executive sedans kase yan eh, and pagka-transfer pa lang sa name mo nyan, 2nd hand na yan, tapos ibebenta mo pa ulet. mejo malaki ang tama nyan sa resale value.

sorry, my bad. ang pinalitan is yung sa Cefiro.

    Same sentiments tayo ssaloon.

Swordsman - Yep, sa probinsya madalas tinakbo. Alabang-Sta. Rosa yata...

Or better yet, if you can, sell both nga ang buy a lower mileage but well-maintained Camry.

sigh. as of this very moment, bago na naman isip ko....i still have until next week to make the final decision. ngayon, im thinking of selling the camry. then use the money to pimp the cefiro. 18's, chrome mags (magkano ba ito?), change speakers then go to big berts for detailing. kung iyon ang gagawin ko, i just have a couple of questions and hope you guys can help me again.

separately, thanks for those who responded.

I too will choose the Camry.

    And to answer your questions...

Here's a good example. Pinalitan ko from 16" to 20" ang ride ko.
    2. Tumagtag, although very slight lang, dahil siguro malambot na ang stock suspension in the first place, si Commander di niya nararamdaman ang difference when she's on the passenger side, pero ramdam ko sa steering wheel.
    3. Medyo bumagal ang take-off (sa feeling ko lang but I can't confirm this in numbers)
    4. LUMAKAS SA GAS!!! sa stock wheels I get above 28MPG pero ngayon I'll be lucky if I get pass 24MPG!!!

Ride quality - Well this would depend on how much bigger the rim you're getting is, and how much lower the sidewall height becomes. But since this is a Cefiro we're talking about, having big, low profile tires might not really be such a problem on tagtag. I put 18s on my Camry, from the stock 15s. Ride was just the same. I put in 20s, and the ride deteriorated a bit.

Fender rubbing - This would depend on the right rim offset and the tire size, when you do plus sizing. I would think 235/40r18 would not pose problems on your ride, assuming the rim's offset is correct. Reputable shops should know the proper offset and tire size for the Cefiro. Now, if you think sumasayad na ngayon, while you're on stock, have your suspension checked. Baka may problema na ngayon pa lang.

Fuel consumption - In general, if you upgrade to bigger wheels, your wheel and tire combo gets heavier. Unless of course, you buy the lightweight rims. But then, chrome does have its add-on weight to wheels. So more unsprung weight, means more fuel consumed.

Acceleration - Bigger wheels do not necessarily mean slower acceleration. If you plus-size correctly, and do not change the overall diameter of your wheel and tire combo much, then, acceleraton doesn't suffer as much. But then, there's the weight to contend with that'll slow you down a bit.

IMO, assuming there's nothing wrong with the suspension thus erroneously leading you to believe even stock rims will cause fender rubbing, go for the bigger wheels. Mas guapo! Have a look if you like the way chromes will fit on your ride. Then have a look whether you can live with 18s or with 19s, depending on how you drive and where you travel. Handling and cornering will be better, at the expense of a slightly harsher ride. My kumander also did not notice the ride difference, and that was with her driving the car, which I had just lowered. Hehehe!

Can you guys help me choose, Cefiro or Camry?
