Sportage EX CRDi na ang kunin mo. At least you don't have to feel guilty about guzzling expensive fuel when you speed. It'll be nice to have a car with higher ground clearance, considering the local road conditions. You wouldn't be worrying about scraping something on the gutter or something like that.
tama si GH...
POGI ang ASX...
and you should really consider what everybody here is basically telling you....
IT'S MORE SENSIBLE TO GET AN SUV/CUV....
pogi points accounted for...:rockf:
Yep, if you can afford it. SUV is the way to go
Make no mistake, I luuurrrrvveee my car. Pero kung afford namin sana yung CRV yun na kinuha namin
Update update.. ok, was brainwashed enough.. I want to go for an SUV.. but here's my dilemma:
if car: I really like GTA ~P1.1M
if SUV: I only want Subaru XV ~P1.5M
is 400k extra worth it to go for an SUV instead?
I'm just thinking, this could be my only car for the next what.. 8-10 yrs? So it better be a good one..
unless of course you guys can brainwash me again to go for other SUVs? :D
Thanks a lot experts! :D
Kung kaya mo pala magintay ng matagal might as well consider the Toyota 86 and/or the 2013 Genesis Coupe. Yun talaga pang-single lang. Chick lang pwede isakay dun. Pag chicks, masikip na.
Kung Toyota 86, suggest ko sir MT tapos TRD all the way. Pero kung SUV, Subaru ako :D
Suggestion lang sir. Sa iyo parin yung final decision.

Sumasayad lang ako sa humps pag nililipad ko yung humps at hindi ako nagsslowdown. I drive an Altis and it has roughly the same ground clearance as a Lancer EX.
If you brake right before a hump (which is what you should do anyway), hindi ka sasayad, except kung puno ka ng pasahero. And even then, only the ill-constructed humps will scrape your underside. Pag ganun naman, mag-siyete ka lang, ok na.
What you should be worrying about is parking. Yung mga parking slots na medyo naka-angle, sasayad ka talaga, lalo na kung pabaliktad ka pumasok (rear first). I have tried countless times to park without scraping the underside of my front bumper, and nagagawa ko lang 'to if I enter the slot almost sideways, in effect occupying 3 slots in the process before settling in to my chosen slot. Partida hindi pa gaanong mataas yung incline ng outdoor parking ng Shopwise Araneta where I always park.
Today's compacts have much less ground clearance than those in the 90s, but is that enough reason not to buy a Lancer EX? NO.
After all, no one's ever gonna see the scrapes. Sa ilalim lang talaga siya and the only way to know that they're there is if you actually run your hand through the bumper's underside and feel the roughness.
Are you going to pay for the car in cash? If yes, by all means, get the car that you WANT. Else, get the car that will suit your needs.
If I had 1.3M to burn for a can, I'd get an XV, ASX, or Tucson. But if I'm gonna have to finance the car, I'd probably get an Elantra or a Jazz.
Go buy the impreza. I owned an 08 model and it served me well, never gave me headaches. You get good NVH, good handling, engine is super quiet.
One thing to note though, I remember that future impreza models lost the traction control, check mo nalang sa specs. Mine had it, the newer models of the same gen lost it.
As far as priorities go:
1. Looks - panalo
2. Fuel economy - hindi matipid sa gas
3. Performance - a good drivers car, fun to drive, but its not as fast as you would think.
