Parts can be pricey pero dito sa Tsikot, hari kami ng kuripot motoring. ZEE, Speedyfix, Mang Mario, etc. to address most of our servicing needs. There are also other third party BMW specialists.
May surplus at replacement parts din naman ang BMW.
The CASA is not the only place to have it serviced Computer-schmooter, we just give some cash to the guy at the CASA to reset the computer on our Volvo after we have the oil changed at the nearby gas station. You can do that with the BMW dealer, too.

to put it into proper perspective, yes mas mahal ang parts at hindi sentimos lang ang difference. the other side of the coin is as long as you regularly observe regular maintenance intervals, the bimmer will last a life time.

if you'll buy 2nd hand, make sure that the car is already in acceptably good condition. if you're thinking of an E36 320i, its weak points are the water pump, rack and pinion, rear subframe suspension parts, and the weak adhesive of the ceiling pad. so, make sure these parts are a-ok.
if you'll buy an E46, i heard that its water pump is also kinda weak. a quick trip to a dealer with a computerized engine scanning device will also help.
good luck in your search!

January 3rd, 2006 11:54 AM #5BTW these are my choices all in MT (speed freak din ako eh)
1998 BMW 320i
1999 Honda Civic SIR
2000 RAV4
2001 Honda CIVIC VTI-S
I like big bodied car, so i might go for BMW 320i (masculine ang dating eh) but im not really aware how much would it cost for me when it comes in maintenance compare with others.

Hi,
If you never owned a German car yet, wag mo nang simulan. For practicality, Japanese rides are still the best. Just use your excess cash to buy some nice 17" wheels, sound system etc.... Sa BMW, pag may masira, matakot ka na.
Mahal talaga ang maintenance ng BMW specially if it is a used BMW. Owning a maintaning a BMW is a whole new world for your bank account.
