There was so much apprehension connected to CRDi injectors when the technology was new a decade ago. But look at it now - with hundreds of thousands of CRDi vehicles sold to ordinary motorists who are typically not OC with maintenance, we still see a lot of these CRDi diesels on the road that are over a decade old.

May differences pa rin in terms of power output & noise levels, but emission levels of Isuzus have improved a lot.

Interesting yung European D-MAX 1.9, while the rest of the world get the detuned version, sila higher output na, Euro VI compliant din without AdBlue.

Meron ka bang HP & torque figures compared sa local version? Yung 1.9 kasi is not spectacular, but it gets the job done.

Out right performance hyundai diesel, wins. (mounted on a car based SUV)

But you have to draw the line which is better for what use? Isuzu's are truck specialist Large displacement diesel engines, while hyundai makes small displacement diesel engines. And both use Bosch injectors.
Hyundai have large diesel engines mounted to provide power on very large ocean going ships like Super Tankers, Bulk Carriers, Container ships and ect. While Isuzu have very few diesel engines to power large heavy equipment to rival Caterpillar, Komatsu, Detroit, Cummins, Mtisubishi, and others.. It's true isuzu is only up to large displacement truck specialist only.

    +1

But for private vehicles the commercial class 3.0 isuzu engine(dmax & mux) is more reliable versus the commercial class 2.5 Hyundai(found in the starex)

163PS/360 NM for the European RZ4E, matching the older 4JK1 twin turbo, but with 40Nm less torque.

Since I have both the more than a decade old 2.2 Hyundai Crdi Sante Fe And the new bluepower, mas responsive pa din ang Santa fe ko. And take note its just using the regular Shell helix diesel oil yun dilaw. Its gor 54k on the odo with no major repairs whatsoever sa engine compartment and still thrifty at 10km/liter compared to the 3.0 bluepower at12km/ liter city.

Better diesel engine, ISUZU or HYUNDAI?
