the trouble is that any car that old is bound to have quite a few diseases hiding in it somewhere... kung sagad na yung budget, the first blown head gasket will really ruin your day (and month.. and maybe year). you'll end up having no car for an extended amount of time, tapos na-sink na yung pera mo.

the problem is not the car itself... the problem is the budget. With only 100K, its difficult (more like impossible) to find a decent brand car that is not 10 years old.

My friend bought a Nissan Sentra 1.6L last year for P110k. All power na siya, which will be advantageous for a lady driver ... more so for a newbie. It ran for 100tkm, but surprisingly wala pa siyang pinapaayos. The body was in good condition and so was everything else ... except the mags (parang pang D.O.M. kasi). Anyway, I suspect prices have gone down some more, and you will be able to find one for < P100k.

Don't rush into buying. If you take time, you will find a bargain car (maganda, naalagaan, mura). That's what I always do. As for Lancer or Sentra, go for the latter since mataas ang quality problems ng Lancer during the early 90's.

Its a good car. Mechanically, just check the standard wear & tear stuff especially the suspension. The only negative point on getting this car is it's bad fuel consumption even if driven lightly. Positive points would include spacious interior and trunk, torquey engine and nice body styling.

btw, what is the engine displacement and milage of the car? And what's the catch for the car being so low in price?

that's what i have to find out....

i have not seen the car yet. this week ko pa lang po pupuntahan at makikita talaga...

the reason why it is being sold so low kasi they have another car to use as a daily car and this car has not been registered for a year already, hence, seldomly used.

    that's a 1995. BG body, box-type 323.
i've seen them for as low as 25k!!! (1993 model, repossessed by the bank, with totally shot suspension).

90k seems to be par for the course, beware of getting an ex-taxi though.

but then again the B3 1.3L SOHC carb engine goes for 6,000 pesos i believe in bulacan! so who cares if the engine has blowby already or not..

Mura pala ng engine na B3 1.3L, parang engine lang ng scooter.
