Like I've said, when in doubt, don't. During deep river crossing we remove the drain plugs to let the water in the rig to add weight preventing the rig to be swept away by the current. Keeping the door close creates a vacuum inside that lets the car float. But then again who wants wet carpets.

and because the engine is mounted at the rear the bow wave created at the front keeps the engine and the intake above the water.

noong ondoy, yung pajero(first gen,box type , gasoline)ko di kinaya, natrap ako sa dimasalang kaya nagpatulak pa ako para maakyat yung sasakyan sa flyover...1st time ko lang magdrive na ganoon kataas yun baha at gasoline/petrol yung pajero ko....kaya tumawag ako sa phone kaya sinundo ako ng father ko gamit yung 80 series na land cruiser lifted, doughnut-type na yung tires.. grabe...noong pagbaba namin ng dimasalang(iniwan ko na yung pajero sa tulay) abot hanggang hood yung baha...pero tuloy tuloy parin yung land cruiser parang wala lang...ang tikas...kaya kung best baha vehicle , go for the land cruiser or any diesel 4x4, pero land cruiser talaga ang galing

Like! Like!

Makes me remember the Top Gear Bolivia special, James May bought an old Suzuki Vitara... It got flooded at a river crossing but it still kept going even outlasting Richard Hammond's LC40....
