kakapagod maghanap ng 2ndhand suv w/quality and reability this time that is why im asking for your personal experience and honest opinion on choosing the right suv for me.

btw the most impt. thing that i consider in a suv is the ff.

    car capacity(ofcourse 7seater)
    low maintenance cost
    durability and fuel efficiency
engine power(i'm tired of driving underpowered engine such as ISUZU XWIND SPORTIVO TURBO 2.5 engine)

I don't care sa looks ang impt. is
malakas humataw kaya kahit 8-9pax w/luggage pa :D
and the MOST IMPORTANT talaga is murang pms at tibay cause i want this car to be a real suv
pangharabas, matipid at maangas kahit pangit ang looks.
    eka nga ng mga matatanda
its not only in the OUTside,
ITS MORE IN THE INSIDE. :D

    8-9 pax w/ luggage capacity for 500k?

    You're looking at a late 1990s van.

Starex or hiace. Pili ka nalang.

add more and you can get the First Gen Ford Everest. Or pwede din Nissan Terrano kaso it won't be more powerful than your crosswind. Kung di kaya magdagdag, then turn your eyes on the surplus market. 1st gen Santa Fe, Toyota Hilux Surf, etc.

With some haggling you can get a 2004 Starex GRX CRDi M/T (A/T's are a lot less fuel efficient and somewhat slower). Ayun. Napakalakas humataw (145hp, 360Nm) and has lots of space for 10 passengers, very comfortable to boot. Same case with the Ford Everest 1st gen. Get the manual only, its got lots of space, though it is nowhere as fast as the Starex GRX and nowhere as comfortable too. Old school engine should be more economical maintenance-wise though.

Saw a grey market (from Hancars) 2004 Hyundai Starex GRX CRDi A/T in sul!t. Ang baba ng mileage almost 45,000kms palang.

The owner is selling the Starex for 599K only.

Toyota Hilux Surf or a Land Cruiser 90-series (Prado) would be good options to consider.

Parang hindi kaya yung LC80 kung diesel. Gas, may papasok malamang sa budget. Pero seryoso ba na bibili ka ng LC80 na de gasolina? :hysterical:

maganda kasi sana kung m/t yung available sa sulit,
mostly a/t yung for sale maxado magastos sa maintenance yung a/t diba?
yung ford 1st gen maganda sana kaso malakas daw kumain ng gasolina/diesel.

Maraming M/T for sale ah! Try looking at ayosdito.ph for more choices. Matibay naman ang kaha ng Starex. Ladder frame and rear wheel drive yan. Its basically the same one as that from the 1st gen during the late 90s. And that platform was derived from the Space Gear. What do you think of the durability of those laspag na laspag Japan surplus Space Gear's?

LC80 is a cool one, altough I'd possibly never even take a look at a gasoline-powered one for sale (except if I were already considering to perform an engine swap and slap a diesel under the bonnet ).

Naku! Ang LC80 gas (6 cylinder 4.5L) napakalakas na sa gasolina hindi pa ganun ka tulin. Pero if I had a budget for an LC80 diesel, I might as well get a diesel LC90. Timeless indeed! Kahit sabihing converted basta maganda condition OK lang.

The LC90 seems to have a higher cost-effectiveness at all, and also easier maneuverability in tighter spaces. Altough I like the full-size LC80 since I was a kid...

The 1st gen Santa Fe is very ugly. The Terracan is actually a very nice SUV. Power is abundant and the platform is based off the Pajero. But it may be very hard for you to find parts since it was never sold locally. It is interesting to note though, that some Terracan variants share the same 145hp/360Nm engine as the Starex GRX. The Starex GRX is about as rugged as any rear wheel drive SUV, and all you need are bigger wheels and tires. It features a ladder frame chassis, double wishbone front and rigid axle 5 link coil spring rear suspension and a standard LSD- stuff you normally find not in vans but in SUVs. Despite the SUV underpinnings, the ride quality is still very good- the reason why many Filipino families ditched their fridge type vans and SUVs in favor of this.
