Help me choose. All are 36 months to pay 20% down. Route SLEX and Star toll. Around 15,000 kms per year. I want a AT no MT for me.

    1. Vios 1.5 AT 775,000 pesos initial cash out 176,238. 21,328 monthly. Free LTO, Chattel mortgage, insurance and 5000 gas card. 107 HP. Total payment for 3 years inc DP = 922,718

    2. Sentra 1.3 AT 650,000. DP 98,000 after discount. 19,290 per month. Free LTO, Chattel mortgage, insurance. 95 hp, no airbag and no abs. I like the price, concern is FC and lacks safety equipment, old body and low resale value. total pay = 792,440

    3. Lancer GLS CVT 1.6. 140,000 all in DP, 21,655 monthly. All in inc LTO Chattel mortgage, insurance. 110 hp. Total out = 875,588 Why dont I read or hear about this car? Any comments on this car?

    4. City 1.3 AT 756,000. 215,950 DP no freebies. 21,538 monthly. 100 hp. total out = 987,246

    5. City 1.5 AT 806,000 228,050 DP, 22,963 per month = 1,054,718 120 hp

    6. Altis G AT 859,000, 211,000 DP, 23,919 monthly free insurance only. Total cost = 1,072,084. 1 air bag only. 109 hp.

I like the price of the Sentra. How is the FC for highway use?

Lancer seems to be the best value for money but as I said earlier have no feedback about this car. How is the FC?

My wife likes the City. But I think its too expensive. Close to 1M for a 1.3

I like the Altis, but your review said it has a very light steering. And its over 1M. I really want to keep it below 1M if possible.

Bigger cars tend to be more safe.

Konti lang naman ang difference, I will go for the Altis. Since most the time express way ang daan. You can get an FC of more that 12 km per liter sa altis is not driven aggressively even it is an automatic.

Pero in terms of FC, better will be the 1.3 City and the Vios. Between the 2, i will opt for the vios.

Your wife is right, get the city.....

Hmm....there's a thread here about the lancer gls cvt. And from what I've read, the lancer is fast, and quiet.

but City vs. Lancer = I'd pick the City.... FC wise.

City. Also consider Honda Jazz. The Toyota Yaris has fat discount right now cash price of P673,000 for the automatic and P643,000 for the manual you might want to add that also if you don't mind hatchbacks...

Talking of small cars.. there's the recently launched Suzuki Celerio. matic priced at 570k if i'm correct. You just have to consider the occupants travelling in your daily run coz 4pax lang ata capacity or perhaps 5 with kids at the back.

Vios for me, lots of freebies and bigger engine compared with city (same price range of city 1.3).

Why not consider the Mazda 3? It's in the same class as the Altis but the prices are quite similar to the Vios and the City. It's been out for quite some time already but still looks fresh compared to the Sentra or the Lancer.

Even the entry level 3 has dual air bags.

the lancer cvt has airbags too, and its bigger.
but imho, among the choices, i would go for the altis. its bigger, fuel efficient and nice resale value.

I think TS is considering a more spacious car. Peruse carefully his/her original choices.

The Celerio is close to Picanto and i10 category. More to a kei car standards.

The City 1.3 AT's really good. Checked out the interior, its as spacious as my old 97 civic. The 1.3 engine's efficient yet powerful for its size, and then there's the clincher, its looks. No wonder its selling like hotcakes, imagine half of honda's sales are from the city alone?

altis for me...spacious,comfortable,mascular appearance, more stable in the highway + it has the more luxury feeling among your choices...steering is too light? i beg to disagree i own one before i would say the steering is sweet, well controlled even at high speed vey good for city driving and manoeuvring...go to each dealer compare and test drive...

i'll surely get the altis because it's a bigger vehicle. the power and acceleration is far better than that of the city or vios considering that it has a bigger engine displacement. it is more suitable for your usual route.

Yes that is true, half of Honda's passenger vehicles sale in fact more than half is City. Its quite a looker talaga.

No offense but the second-generation Vios just has zero appeal - and it's cramped at the back. My head touches the ceiling when I'm in the back seat and I'm just 5'8".

Out of the choices I'd either pick the ZZE141 Corolla or the GM1 City. The City is a fine car, reminiscent of its namesake from 1999-2002. The Corolla is an improvement over its older ZZE121 brother.

For me, Ill trim it down to Lancer CVT vs. City. True, Mitsubishi just added icing on their old Lancer, but safety wise, it has 2 airbags already with ABS. Looks, I still bet for Lancer. Price, very reasonable. CVT has a good FC. City, well the car says for itself.
