so you guys are of the opinion that all those technological breakthroughs that have been proven to save lives are second rate to YOUR DRIVING SKILLS???

i say control the things you can, and leave those you CAN'T CONTROL to God...... and technology. ABS works. EBD works. Stability Control works. Curtain Airbags work. especially when your mind no longer knows what to do because your vehicle is about to tip over. those things were not invented just so the marketing executives can put them in their brochures and sell more cars than the other guy could. THOSE WERE INVENTED TO SAVE LIVES. to think otherwise would be very very foolish. if you think your driving skills are enough to save your family where it counts let's just hope you will not be put in such situation where you will wish you had not.

lastly, overloaded trucks and crazy drivers are not excuses for you not to get the best safety features available to help keep your family safe.

that's why i bought an everest instead of a montero or fortuner. with the budget i have it has the best feature/safety feature on the price segment sans looks and engine specs. only a fanboi will say otherwise (wag magalit )

Im all in for those technological advances.. but it should not be your only consideration for buying one.. many here will say buy the everest because it has more airbags?.. or buy this because of collision mitigation feature? These safety features does not give you authority to exceed speed limit, exceed loading capacity or drive hard along mountains or heavy rain. This i observe among PPV drivers.. driving too fast with over confidence that those safety features will intervene at the time of need.

Dont buy montero because it doesn't have side curtain airbag. Dont buy fortuner because it doesn't have stability control. Dont buy MUX because it doesnt have electronic brake assist

there's a timely poster on the upper left corner somewhere here.

    "incompetence."
"just because you have the tools, does not mean you know how to use them."

    i agree.
these technological doodads are no guarantee against the loose nut holding the wheel.
but they do have their place.

    both sides are correct.
the mainstay of safe driving is the driver.
if that fails, we pray these scientific breakthroughs can lessen the impact.

i'm a defensive driver. i drive as if i own the car.

nauuna kasi ang ego kaya react agad.

i never said buy the everest.

i never said don't buy mux or montero or fortuner.

the only thing i commented on was the statement someone made that stability control is useless, that it is driving skills that matter, that all those tech don't matter coz there is always that truck with no brakes that will kill you anyway.

those technologies were invented because even the best drivers need it. period.

There really is no excuse in scrimping on safety kit. You may not use it as much as a car head unit, but at least it's there when you need it, kaya nagtataka NCAP, kung additional $100 lang naman yung module per car bakit inalis pa.

Basta ang sakin lang, I'd rather have a car with steel rims, 1-DIN HU, etc. wag lang mawala tanggalan ng safety kit. Pwede naman upgrade aftermarket yung iba. 😄
