They priced it against the Prado.

    They're suffering now with sales.

They had to introduce the 4x2 variants just to compete in the PPV market there.

Di ba sila pwede mag cut down ng price? Layo ng price nya sa fort dun. Samantalang dito satin mas mura everest kesa fort. Same specs naman sa australia yung totl eve dito unlike fort medyo trimmed down na mas mahal pa. Their fort has all disc brakes and a better head unit pa.

the ranger is selling good because it's the nearest to feel owning a Raptor F150. ive been watching youtube videos of the F150 Raptor as well as the F250. tapos nakikita ko yun internal dashboard instrumetns nila halos kamukha ng nasa wildtrak ko.

It feels so good to buy something that makes your car look like a warrior or a knight road warrior.

alam yan ang hinde ko maintindihan sa buyers ng Hilux, the always playing safe Hilux.

we are all into muscle cars diba, mustangs, camaros, yun dodge. what ford is really releasing these past few years are muscle Pick-ups at the price of regular cars. san ka pa? in the american forums, patay na patay sila sa ranger natin. they're envious coz we Asians have this model. tapos we naman envying the Raptor.

You shouldn't be so sure about that. Being based on a pickup platform doesn't guarantee worse ride than the developed-from-scratch Prado especially considering the fact that the Prado has been around since 2009. A quick google search will show you the following reviews:

Seven wins of seven for the Everest - in spite of any biases that could internally form due to the knowledge of the Everest being based on a commercial vehicle(commonly believed to equate to being a worse vehicle). I do agree, though, that the Everest is ridiculously overpriced in Australia but the Prado is even more so. No way in hell is being non-pickup-based and being made in Japan worth the extra 1.6mil Toyota charges for the Prado VX over the Everest Titanium if the Everest is the better vehicle (even if it was just a hair worse). So 2.2mil for Everest Titanium is fine but I wouldn't pay 2.2mil for a Prado VX Diesel.

Good reviews do not mean it will sell well. mazda3 and cx5 are favorites by reviewers but arent top sellers.

Because Mazda vehicles are just not that good for daily use compared to a Honda or Toyota ... they don't have very good NVH and usually they are cramped inside ... just take a look at the Mazda CX-9 compared to it's competitors ...

I checked out a CX-9 a couple of weeks ago and you're right... it's really cramped inside and the ingress/egress to the 3rd row is complicated due to the 2nd row not snapping back into its original place when you slide them back. So basically, if you want to put the 2nd row back into place, it's a 3-step process. Deal breaker for me.

The prado has a lot of loyal followers and kinda established itself as a status symbol especially in the Philippines. Ika nga ng iba... pag naka Land Cruiser daw, you have arrived.hehehe

Why would I buy the 2017 Montero GLS AT Standard over 2017 Ford Everest Trend?

I'm leaning towards the Ford Everest Trend simply because it's feature packed as compared to the Montero GLS AT.
But I'm giving the Montero a chance before I make that commitment to a new SUV, btw I drive a Ford Ranger 2013, I know what the issue is on the Ranger and Everest having the same platform.

    Thanks in Advance.
