I believe yes, but with possibility to decline by about 10-20% from 2017 sales. If double-cab pick-ups are truly tax-exempt, we could observe the shift from PPV to pick-ups, consider me as one of them. Sustained sales is even possible given that the disposable income would increase.

I've just read in the tgph article that the MU-X (blue power) is not class leading when it comes to fuel efficiency. Kung ganun, sino ang pinakamatipid sa diesel sa mga PPV, Montero ba? Salamat

Which model are #1 and #2?
Actually my father owns one, a 3.0 4x2 euro 2 and he is satisfied with it's FC.

PPV is not a class. PPVs are just mid-size SUVs that share platforms with pickups. The Pajero and Prado are mid-size SUVs. They're all built on ladder frames (bar the Pajero). They're similarly sized, equipped, and capable. The are in the same class. The only difference is that PPVs share parts and platforms with pickup trucks but they use different suspension setups so ride quality doesn't suffer. There's nothing substantial that separates the Prado from PPVs to put it in a class above but the pricing. There's the KDSS but that's not available on low-mid trims (not available in the Philippines). The Pajero is a monocoque but that's hardly impressive especially since it's from 1999. They are very comparable. I for one would never pay 2.8 mil for a Pajero when I can get a Monty for 800k less. At the same price, I'd have to think hard but only because of how cramped the Monty is compared to the rest of the class.

+1. That's because people associate vehicle category/class with price.

In Australia, the Fortuner, Mu-x, Pajero Sport/Montero Sport are all cross-shopped with Prado, Pajero because prices there are more comparable. Even the lower trims of Land Rover Discovery is thrown in the comparison, yet here people will never compare the "lowly" PPV with such because prices are too far apart.

    +1 on this. 👍🏼

And also one of the most important aspects for any car - the engine. When the prado's engine is inferior to the fortuner but the price is more than doubled.
