Every car enthusiast talks about the engine and its power and how relatively fast it can accelerate.

The old generation forts/everests were sluggish. The newer ones have improved engines hence a good topic for these new breed.

Even the mazda2 can out accelerate most of these. Its still a good topic though.

A good "drive" means alot of things and speed is one aspect.

You can't play trump cards with handling and braking. Lap times and braking distances aren't as accessible as horsepower figures.

napikon kasi nung sinabing underpowered yung muX, which after all was referring to the older 2.5 with 136 hp. pati yung naka 3.0 na bago with 163 hp e napikon din. e totoo naman na 136 hp yung 2.5 na model. compare that to the 150 hp of the 2.4 fort, 181 hp of the 2.5 montero and 160 hp of the 2.2 everest. e ang hirap naman pala magsabi ng totoo at aawayin ka.

That's what he said but it's most probably a reaction to diminishing sales due to newer, more powerful competitors. Even Toyota upgraded the Hiace's engine. Probably a reaction to the NV350. Ain't competition great?

Both the everest 2.2 and mux 2.5 are underpowered kung ako tatanungin. We have both in our office. In fact drag times are the same. Lol.

Parang mas powerful pa rin nga yung fortuner vnt ko. Sobra naman sa tagtag hehe.

Power madali lang yan. Kabit ko lang dpchip and the mux becomes a 400nm ppv. Ang problema, driveability somewhat suffers kasi medyo may kaunting usok.

* sir Djerms question lang regarding to your fortuner, did you tried other options to lessen tagtag? Like replacing the front and rear shocks? Rancho or Bilstein.

autoindustriya lists the top speed of the montero sport at 180 kph. i have read somewhere in this forum kaya ng 200+ kph, i just don't know if this is actual experience or pure speculation.

i've tried the 2012 sorento (pre-speed limiter model) to 211 kph, pedal to the metal. kaya pa siguro to above 215-220 kph but i had to breathe na, my balls were in my throat kasi. mas magaang ang sorento sa MS and more power, so i doubt if they will have the same top speed.

ser yebo, yeah sa manual nga din nakalagay 180. pero saw this YouTube video taken in Thailand umabot sya 190....
so i'm referring to the FL Sortie also with 190 speed governor...pero without that limit baka nga mas mataas pa si Korean SUV...
