The ranger is considerably heavier than the strada too. The unibody sorento and santa fe are much lighter at around 1800kg. Otoh, its still 200kg lighter than a land cruiser and its barely smaller.

Test drove Montero kanina. I can say that it's a great SUV. NVH is good, and also Calsonic (tama ba?) Airconditioning system na daw ang gamit ng New Montero. Interior is better than the Montero before. Seats are comfortable compared sa Everest. Overall rating is 9/10

If we were just to compare all those PPV based SUV their all similarly made, I mean material wise with no fancy alloys nor carbonfibre. Having said that I would go for the heftier one as this one tells you of a more solidly built body! Kumbaga kasabihan ng mga olds latang lata and pulido. This might not be good for FC and topspeed/acceleration data but hey this is an SUV not a sports car. In the Australian drive test comparo of Eve and Prado there it was pointed out about body stiffness/rigidity even on a 25deg angle, it would be very hard to achieve that stiffness with lean metals and bracing on the chassis and body. I have both inspected/seen Monty and Eve underside and even your not a car nut very obvious ang build quality of the latter. Am just waiting for a direct comparo of those guys in these 3 SUV😀

10k voucher, then 60k discount pag nag down and chance to win another 40k discount sa lucky draw nila.

Thanks! Will try to go tomorrow Sunday for a test drive. Hopefully they give an additional 50k discount so it's less 150k already

Test drove the gray Montero Sport GLS Premium yesterday sa Mitsubishi event. 8 speed AT was nice to complement the lighter body of the SUV pero the ride comfort is not as good as the Everest Trend. More matagtag sya to me at around 60KPH on paved roads. My wife ,who really wanted the Montero Sports as our other car, said it was really matagtag sa likod. You can feel na light sya especially when you close the door, you don't feel the reassuring thud, medyo parang light ang dating nya. The interior dash is not as nice as the Everest IMHO although navigation is standard but was not able to see it, may issue ata ang demo . The seats were also comfortable but engine noise was prominent inside the car even with light music on. Handling was good, steering not as light as Everest but still good. Haven't driven the old Montero but sabi ng taga Mitsubishi guide that accompanies each test drive, laki na daw ng difference in the handling and comfort of the old vs new.

In the end, still glad I chose the Everest instead of waiting for the Montero Sport. Next up, Fortuner.

Just my two centavos worth of opinion.

He may sounds really validating his purchase but yep indeed it is part of self assurance and gratification instead of just reading and hearing comments on the other choices in the market😀 In my caae I ended up having both reservation, primarily sa powertrain and looks of the Monty and spite due to long wait of hte Everest. But in the end after a thorough self evaluation Worth the wait yun Everest, IMHO for value for the money, classic looks and the on the ride qlty, NVH, looks and feel of interiors. Those were based on both model 4x2 TOTL, Caveat above was my personal judgement as well but go for a test drive and validate all of them, w/ the exceptions of looks kse subjective yun😀 Guapo ang Montero kase he's stlll alone in the line up of Mitsu but past fwd ng konti halos magkakamukha na lahat yan ng other Mitsu Model yan kase ang new theme ng Mitsu

Grabe 8 speed, sobramg nakaka-OC Siguro yan sa NLEX knowing that your car has to shift 8 times to ensure fuel efficiency

What if it gets stuck to 5th speed pero ok naman sa speed radar ng NLEX pero kelangam mo mag 8th speed para makatipid sa fuel pero majuhuli ka naman ng fine P3000 pag binilisan mo

    Catch 22 my friends , catch 22 ..

    Wishful thinking... but...

If they come up with a mid size ladder frame SUV:
    - with the Trailblazer's engine power (200/500)
    - Everest's dashboard and safety features
    - Montero's transmission (8AT) and FC
    - Fortuner's parts availability and resale value
    - MuX's pricing strategy
    - and outgoing Montero's discount promo (less P200k)

Then, we'll all be happy buyers.

    Again, just wishful thinking here.

The safety features are only available sa totl at the moment. Maybe 2-3yrs down the road it will be offered on the 4x2.

The montero gt 4x2 in thailand has all the features. But with the current pricing from mitsu ph. It will be a hard sell.

White wash! hehe Nice picture. Both are good but one is better than the other.

Its healthy to compare because you will be able to know that the Montero is the best except the rear oh yeh!
